NO, no problem at all dude. Those are some fine dancers that you posted. I see that Michael always had that "mean" dance spin of his. He learned every dance that was popular in the black community from the 70's onward, and he translated it for broad audiences. To bad I never seen him doing the "Chicken Noodle Soup" dance. LOL (If you aren't familar with it, you can youtube it)

Sammy Davis Jr. was always hit or miss for me. Sometimes I felt that he was a little boring, but I have to remember that he was kinda the last of the pioneers. I liked that number "Thats Choreography" that was kinda cool and funny.

I met Gregory Hinds at a gig that we (my Choir) did at the Shubert Theatre. He kissed me on the cheek, and I didn't want to ever wash my face. Never! LOL. He was also great. Savion Glover is the last of the tappers. Sometimes I don't feel like anyone will come after him. It's a lost artform.

the medium hasn't died, it just isn't celebrated so much now because it's not a new style of music..that's pretty much the only reason why anything is mainstream,jazz and blues hails most of the greatest singers of all time but they were only widely appreciated back in the 20's 30's and 40's because it was pretty unheard of untill then..i dn't think alot of the people back then actually appreciated the voices or the technical melody of the music..just that it was newish

with Sammy, he was so cool that it may have been seen as kinda boring but he was definitely dynamic

Michael was the kind of dancer that he could see a move and then get it at first try

In regards to the videos I just posted, I don't think anybody really knows how hard tap dancing really is. Some think all you gotta do is put your foot down and that's it, and it's not. It takes TRUE skill. I've been dancing as far back as I can remember but it took me some time to get used to tap

Oh yeah, tap is very challinging. It took me forever just to learn a simple "shuffle", and I don't think I can do it anymore. Gene Kelly definitely had some nice moves...I liked him with Jerry Mouse....however he didn't bring very much "rhythm" to his routines. Just clever, catchy "raps" onto the floor. I do like his routines and spins, and he brings his routine alive.

The Berry brothers were "ok"...they remind me of Kappas. They just were not in very much sync neither with the canes, nor the moves. The off the balcony jump was pretty hot though.

See, now you got me on a Sammy Davis Jr. Kick. Here is Sammy singing the Theme Song to Barretta. That song was hot for those of you who are old enough to remember the series.

I didn't stay with it but I plan on getting back into it.

One thing I gotta say. A lot of people say people like Michael and James' moves got stale as they got older, and I disagree. Every iconic performer has their iconic moves and repertoire. James has the splits, slides, and his famous shuffle. Michael had his spin, kick, glides, popping, and his own version of James' shuffle. Those brothers could still get down in their middle age. James' last show at the Apollo was KILLER. and Michael proved he still had it in This Is It. So for people to say "Oh, they were doing the same ole thing", it's kinda wrong. They had their repertoire

It's not always about how many moves you can do, it's how you actually do. The execution, the energy you put behind it. That's why after watching them my whole life, I can watch Michael and James' performances that I've seen several times and still be mesmerized and see something that I've never seen before

And this guy is one of the MOST graceful dancers ever IMO...

And check NOBODY'S JOKE Miss Marie Bryant, one of MGM's prime choreographers doing her thing....

The Nicholas Brothers were sick........I could never get tired of watching that performance.

I've been trying to find out which movie that bit came from. Its SO addictive, I had to download it into my Ipod touch.

He can be seen in many 'soundies'(short musicals) by Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway and Billie Holiday.
