Stefan Raab appreciation thread! this is basically a thread trying to cheer up Martina/Serious just a little bit

I sure does . The way he developped Maschendrahtzaun was pure genius. No one else could have done it the way he did. Regina Zindler was all over the media for months . Ha yes, of course and I'm sure I forgot others too.
I also wanted to find the show when James Brown was guest for a whole hour, and the one where he had Bootsy Collins, I also loved his Swing specials, including the helium voiced songs.. hell, there's so much more to chose from no wonder he has so many fans here on the org

I'm not that fond of Stefan Raab anymore and think that he actually had his prime when he was doing Vivasion on Viva in the mid 90s (that was a Ray Cokes rip off, but quite a good one). TV Total sort of ruined him imo, but anyway - here's a criminally underrated Stefan Raab song which unfortunately often is overlooked because it wasn't a hit:

Great choice  . He should have continued to do TV Total only once a week and not 4 times IMO. And he should have not started to invite boring actors who only promote their films, especially when they air on Pro7. And he should have never hired Elton  . But he is still good IMO, just not as special as he used to be. There are so many special memories through the years. sure an underground hero is always more exciting than a star, no doubt. and there has to be some sort of compromise if one does a high profile late night show, but I wouldn't go as far as saying TV Total ruined him ...but it IS different than it was, sure. but what I can't take anymore are all those big Saturday night "sport" events like WOK, Stock car, Autofussball, Eisfussball, Springreiten, Turmspringen etc. it's really an Raab-overkill nowadays . Just when you think you've seen everything, suddenly there's a Stefan Raab thread on the good, old org 
I've been a fan of his since the early VIVA days, Ma kuck'n, Vivasion....those were the days..he was the man back then
I think he's mellowed out quite a bit when he took over TV Total, but I guess that's just the way things are when you're going from a relatively underground channel like Viva to a big private broadcaster. Big props to him for showing his love to Mr. James Brown over the years...when he had James Brown on TV Total a few years ago, man, that was a special moment! | |

I have that show recorded on VHS, couldn't find it on youtube though. I loved when he cleaned up tha studio before JB entered, and causally trashed the Dieter Bohlen shrine Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy! | |
