I avoided spending time creating a YouTube video for this particular tune but since you brought them up and the tune is so killer, here you go.

...Gold Mine (Parts 1&2)

It was a debate whether to edit the track, but I finally decided to split it up so you'd get the whole thing.

Having had the opportunity to play with Bill Champlin a few times in the 80s, this tune has always stuck with me.
This is from their 2004 DVD/CD release Secret.

I gave you the last cut on their Secret set (the DVD version anyway), so here's the opener...

...Hold On / For Joy

...Hold On was originally from their 1976 A Circle Filled With Love album.

...For Joy from their 1973 Welcome To The Dance album.

Thanks, i'm glad StarMon brought them up again.

It's interesting to note that the Sons of Champlin's first album was released the same year as Chicago's first.
Then a little more than a decade later, Bill Champlin ends up a member of Chicago.

You also have Mic Gillette (trumpet on Secret) who has a link to other Bay area horn bands like Tower of Power and Cold Blood.
