Appreciation for songs on Yentl, the Album

I may be in the minority, and although I can't hit the high notes anymore, I'm listening to Barbra Streisand's album Yentl again... There are so many beautiful songs on this album... I just had to say that I really appreciate it, whether anyone agrees with me or not... It really speaks to me tonight. Lyrics like these from "Where Is It Written":

PRAYER
God, our merciful father,
I'm wrapped in a robe of light
Clothed in your glory
That spreads its wings over my soul.
May I be worthy.
Amen.

There's not a morning I begin without
A thousand questions running through my mind,
That I don't try to find the reason
And the logic in the world that God designed.
The reason why
A bird was given wings,
If not to fly
And praise the sky
With ev'ry song it sings.
What's right or wrong.
Where I belong
Within the scheme of things.

And why have eyes that see and arms that reach
Unless you're meant to know there's something more?
If not to hunger for the meaning of it all.
Then tell me what a soul is for?
Why have the wings unless you're meant to fly?
And tell me please, why have a mind
If not to questinon why?

And tell me where-
Where is it written what it is I'm meant to be,
That I can't dare
To have the chance to pick the fruit of ev'ry tree,
Or have my share
Of ev'ry sweet-imagined possibility?
Just tell me where, tell me where?

If I were only meant to tend the nest,
Then why does my imagination sail
Across the mountains and the seas,
Beyond the make-believe of ev'ry fairy tale?

Why have the thirst if not to drink the wine?
And what a waste
To have a taste
Of things that can't be mine?

And tell me where-
Where is it written what it is I'm meant to be,
That I can't dare-
To find the meanings in the mornings that I see,
Or have my share-
Of ev'ry sweet-imagined possibility?
Just tell me where-
Where is it written?
Tell me where-
Or if it's written anywhere? cool

Piece of Sky

Tell me where
Where is it written
What is it I meant to be?
That I can't dare...
It all began the day I found..
That from my window I could only see
A piece of sky.
I stepped outside and looked around.
I never dreamed it was so wide
Or even half as high.
The time had come
(Papa, can you hear me?)
To try my wings
(Papa, are you near me?)
And even thought it seemed at any moment I could fall,
I felt the most,
(Papa, can you see me?)
Amazing things,
(Can you understand me?)
The things you can't imagine
if you've never flown at all.
Though it's safer to stay on the ground,
Sometimes where danger lies
There the sweetest of pleasures are found.
No matter where I go,
There'll be memories that tug at my sleeve,
But there will also be
More to question, yet more to believe..
Oh tell me where?
Where is the someone who will turn and look at me?
And want to share
My ev'ry sweet-imagined possibility?
The more I live - the more I learn.
The more I learn - the more I realize
The less I know.
Each step I take -
(Papa, I've a voice now!)Each page I turn -
(Papa, I've a choice now!)Each mile I travel only means
The more I have to go.
What's wrong with wanting more?
If you can fly - then soar!
With all there is - why settle for
just a piece of sky?
Papa, I can hear you...
Papa, I can see you...
Papa, I can feel you...
Papa, watch me fly! music

I almost bought this in a used thrift store the other day. Is it really good? I'm not a big Barbara fan, but I do like her.

I dig "Papa, can you hear me?". I bought it as a double cd pack with her "emotion" cd. I only really wanted the latter, but the OST isn't too bad actually.

Thanks. If I see it again, I'll grab it.
