Summer Song Of The Day

I've decided to post a Donna Summer Song Of The Day. Why? Because Donna Summer rocks and is such the underrated and often unappreciated VOCALIST that she is. She's also my favorite singer IN THE WORLD. Her musical and vocal versatility amazes me and she makes my love for music and singing grow each time I hear her. To me, she is (and has always been) "THE VOICE". Enjoy!

The Summer Song Of The Day continues in Volume 2

"BODY TALK" from the cd, MISTAKEN IDENTITY (1991)

What's your opinion of the 'Mistaken Identity' CD? For many years,I had mixed feelings about it (some songs work, some songs are embarassing) but I pulled it out recently and it's not that bad. When it's good,it's really good ("Fred Astaire" should have become the "Last Dance" of the 90s,imo.Can't believe it wasn't released as a single!).

I am a huge Donna Summer fan. It's 2010 and I'm still placing her at the top of my favorite vocalist heap. That should say a lot (smile). I think Mistaken Identity is a good collection of songs. Being the fan that I am, I simply love hearing Donna sing something newer than what came before. Mistaken Identity is not the disco Donna Summer release that most are used to. It has a 90's sound and she sounds more r&b on this release than on some of her earlier releases. The release that came out prior to Mistaken Identity was, I believe, Another Place And Time. That release was more pop music. Mistaken had some pop, but it had a bit more r&b to it. I love it when Donna is versatile. Too many people who know her music lover her ONLY for her dance music, but I love her for her voice and when it's put to any genre of music. That, to me, is a vocalist. Don't sing the same genre all the time. It bores me. This is one reason Donna Summer rocks to me.

yeah,'Mistaken Identity' contains alot of R&B.It was refreshing to hear Donna in that setting. She really is versatile, able to sing a variety of different styles.

That's what happens if you sometimes judge a thread by its title. LOL.
