Dr.Dre is the most overrated producer in the world.

He doesnt even make most of his beats in the first place.

On the song "express yourself" by NWA he says, "I don't smoke weed or sess".

He proceeds 2 name his solo album "The Chronic". hmm. fuck this dude.

I see Dre as 50% producer in the "beatmaker" sense, and 50% producer in the original sense - ie the person that knows how to bring all the right people together to create what he hears in his head.

Secondly, it's a well known story that Dre discovered the benefits of smoking weed AFTER "Express Yourself" was released, and before the creation of "The Chronic".

Finally, the reason that Dre is so well regarded is that he has changed the sonic soundscape of hip-hop not once, not twice, but three times - with "Straight Outta Compton", "The Chronic", and "2001".

He's quite easily the most influential figure in hip-hop of all time.

Exactly. nod

And since the Timbaland/Danja sound is dead (for now) and Jermaine Dupri sound seems to only work for Mariah, Dr. Dre has a huge opportunity to change the game in the music industry once more time.

THE CATCH: Dre needs to sell more than Lady Gaga.

Just saying.
