R&B singer Maxwell will appear on ABC's Dancing with the Stars on April 20. The special performance will coincide with the release of the singer's new video for "A Fistful of Tears."

"Fistful of Tears" just set a record on the Billboard's Urban Adult airplay chart. The single, which comes from last year's BLACKsummers'night, is Maxwell's third consecutive single to go number one on the Urban Adult airplay charts, making him the first male artist to achieve the feat, according to Billboard.

The singer's previous two songs to make the number one spot were "Pretty Wings" and "Bad Habits."

His appearing on a top-rated show like DWTS is a marked improvement over 106 & Park on BET (Black Exploitation Television).

A fellow R&B superstar makes history on the Adult R&B airplay chart, where Maxwell becomes the first solo male to link three straight No. 1s, as "Fistful of Tears" lifts 2-1. The third single from "BLACKsummers'night" follows previous leaders "Pretty Wings" (12 weeks on top) and "Bad Habits" (nine weeks).

"Fistful of Tears" is Maxwell's fifth Adult R&B No. 1, tying him with Musiq Soulchild for second-most toppers among males. The pair trails only Brian McKnight and Luther Vandross, each with six, dating to the chart's 1993 inception.

Maxwell is set to perform on the "Tonight Show With Jay Leno" next week. Details to follow.
