Yeah, I prefer East and Midwest rap. lol

I like some southern rap songs, but not many. Paul Wall (also from Houston) has one track I like:

"You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
"Water can nourish me, but water can also carry me. Water has magic laws." - JCVD

Paul Wall is decent, but I like the 90s H-Town rap.

Geto Boys! LOL! Paul Wall is alright. There's really only like a few southern rappers I like OutKast (before they crossedover) and Ludacris! Other than that I mostly prefer the North!

There is a lot of dancing jig southern rap and then there is a lot of shake southern rap.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

I really like DJ Screw. That stuff is the most psychedelic hip-hop ever, though it's more about codeine/promethazine than LSD.

This is my favorite Southern rap song:

Andre 3000. headbang
"You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
"Water can nourish me, but water can also carry me. Water has magic laws." - JCVD

Houston is the only city in the South where I would say good hip-hop exists. In other areas, it's just a bunch of noise. ATL was alright for a good while with Outkast and Goodie Mob but then Lil' Jon had to come and mess that up. confused Won't get started on Mississippi or even the Carolinas, whose rappers don't get as far as the mixtape circuit. Houston does have a few blemishes though. (Mike Jones and Paul Wall anybody?)

I agree Timmy, not tryin to be bias, but Houston is the best city for southern rap. ATL, NO and Miami are up their.

I don't think no other city can touch our roster, it's deep and we got some important figures.

I've resided in TX for many years and still can't understand the appeal of Z-ro. I imagine it has to do with how "real" he is, but for me, I'm not a big fan of H-town rap, every damn rapper out that town thinks there and R&B singer. Every damn song is "screwed up" so they can get high off lean with it. Every damn song talks about the same thing, which would be cool if i was somewhat entertaining. Only ting I enjoy about H-town raps is they make good strip club music. The best in the whole counry IMO.

Lupe proves why he is the best rapper I've ever heard.
Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

I always favored the storytellers and the rhymers over there in Houston, especially the ones regarded as legends as they should be regarded as such.

I like Z-Ro, but his cousin Trae the Truth is were it's at.

This is a great song from Trae and Z-Ro.
