A Henry Mancini Mood...

...

Composer Henry Mancicni is best known for his Soundtrack themes for "The Pink Panther", and "Peter Gunn"In fact the "Gunn theme was so succesful that it was noted that after that, on late 50's-- early 60's TV, gangsters couldn't "off" someone unless there was a decent Jazz score in the background, lol
...I know a lotta folks probably think of this stuff now as cheesy 50's-60's lounge music , but I've always loved the feel and Moods that Mancini created...so grab your dinner jackets, cats! Heres's a handful of favorites:

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was on the site tv-intos.com a couple of weeks ago listening to some of the oldies and came across this one after listening to the Sanford theme. Didn't know he wrote it and made me look up his other works.
WTF happened to TV themes anyway. 2 seconds then a commercial.

I've always liked Henry Mancini music... I'm a sucker for movie soundtracks.

My Favorites:

He wrote the score for a movie starring Faye Dunaway and George C. Scott

"Oklahoma Crude"

A lot of people thought it was strange but I loved it, I've been searching for the album every since. By the way, "Two For the Road" was his favorite song,

Did Mr.Mancini write the music for Barefoot In The Park?

He also did a soul album with a cover of EWF's Sun Goddess. "Symphonic Soul" is the name of the album.

Nothing cheezy about any of this music.

Great stuff.
You can visualize the scenes even if you've never seen the TV series!

And you're right, the musical build up in Floating Pad is incredible.
Cat crept up, did his dirty work and slithered away. lol

Chime Time sounds like Mr. Lucky is enjoying a night on the town.

It's amazing the quality musical work they put into some of those older TV shows.
