but the thing is, randy's anger is misplaced. his brother set up the trust, he designated the executors, and put a caveat in his will that if any of the heirs challenged his wishes, they would be cut out of it. if he's mad that other people are making money off of the estate, as opposed to the family, that's on mj, not branca or mcclain. as far as aeg/phillips/ortega are concerned, they invested millions in mj's concerts and they deserved to recoup their investment.

and it could be a while before katherine sees any money. katherine is entitled to receive 40% of the profits from the estate, but who knows when profits will be generated given the enormous debts on mj's estate? the executors have a duty to settle mj's debts first, under the law, not dole out money to katherine.

it's looking more like mj set up his trust to operate more like the kennedy family trust, i.e., it will not dissolve when the children reach legal age but instead be administered over the course of generations by executors who will dole out disbursements to the heirs at their discretion. at the time of ted kennedy's death, he was still receiving money from the trust that his father had established in the 1920s. jfk only received some of the principal that was in his allotment when he turned 21; the rest of his life he was given an allowance. so katherine (and the kids and charities) might only receive their money in accordance with what the executors decide. again, who's 'fault' is that?

moreover, sadly, katherine's not even getting the $26K she petitioned for because it's going to pay an $8 million judgment against her (and joe and jermaine). even if the estate gave her a lump sum disbursement, that money's going to pay that judgment first.

long story short, randy can be upset all he wants, but this situation was set up by mj directly, and by katherine herself indirectly since she has to pay her own debts. those people weren't obligated to show up at murray's arraignment; is he mad at janet as well?

Randy should only be upset with himself. Had he been a good brother to Michael and he would have inherited something. Unfortunately, Randy's greedy blinded him. What he did to Michael during the trial is simply horrible. I've read on MJJ Community, a list of things Randy did to Michael (in addition to reading court transcripts) and I was nauseated. Nauseated. The way he took advantage of his own brother's good heart. It's clear, by now, that Randy wants to sue AEG and make millions. However, his schemes will no longer be successful; after all not everybody is called Michael Jackson. This time, Randy will get what he deserves. Too bad.

ur right, but u r sooo crazy. lol

MJ's family and his brothers took advantage of him. But whose fault is that? If I were Jermaine, and I had the choice to freeload off my brother while impregnating as many women as possible, I'd do the same thing! lol If Michael didn't have the balls to say no, then too bad for him. Its a rough world out there- kill or be killed- folks don't play around, and that includes family! If Bill Gates was a naive, stupid and stubburn as Michael was, do you think he would get as far as he did? Hell no! Its a miracle Michael even managed to have a successful career with his utter lack of sense. Be greatful that he still gets to be the KOP. Michael's family is a small part of his fuck ups. He was responsible for most of the bullshit surrounding him. I personally think the family is full of talentless, self-hating, and dispicable individuals who seem to be totally out of touch with reality. But why r u so mad at them for freeloading off their rich brother? Michael was stupid enough to let them, so its his own fault.

You know, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! Blame MICHAEL! lol

R U serious right now?

This family is like the fuckin Adam's family- they actually scare me, to be honest. What kind of sister calls a press conference to announce her brother is a pedophile? I swear to God, if my sister ever shamed me like that, we would never ever speak again. No excuses. THAT is a deal breaker. And then now- my brother dies,, and the first worry is- "oh I'm so mad that all these people are making money from it." Yes, that's the 1st thing I'd think if my big bro dies. I'm so sad ppl are making money. Because $$$ would be on my mind. SO normal.

The Jacksons family are the biggest benifactors from his death. He cut them out of the AEG deal, didn't he? Kenny Ortega, AEG, and all these ppl Randall mentioned woulda made money from the touring deal. The media has been making money off of phoney stories about MJ for decades. So who was left out in the scenario? Oh, yeah- the hasbeen, totally irrelivant group that had been defunct for almost 30 years- The Jackson 5. And whose show was given the greenlight AFTER he died? Oh, yeah- theirs. Weird, huh? But of course, unlike Randall and Toy Toy, I don't believe in conspiracy theories.

eek

U r makin no sense, my friend. LaToya called that press conference, did she not? She is also the one giving interviews talking about his kids, this and that, and whatever. Randy is on twitter ranting about ppl makin money off his brother's corpse. They aren't talking about themselves, they're talking about him. His money. His kids. Its not by force. I haven't heard one peep from Rebbie and Tito since he died, or ever for that matter. So why is it so hard for LaToya, Jermaine and Randy to STFU and stop talking to the media and fans? Or are they such attention whores that its too hard for them?

I'm not "stressed out." On the contrary, the family scares me quite a bit. Katherine is actually scarier than Joe in my book. They're both scary, but she gives me the creeps. Anyway, its clear Janet was the smart one, because she distanced herself from the loony bin. And now she's the one who's alive, healthy, happy, and not in debt. Poor MJ. neutral

They're currently getting everything paid off right now. The last date to file a creditor's claim was last week

yes, randy mentioned the estate:

http://twitter.com/randyjackson8

Sitting in court & I'm sad. Those profiting most from my bro’s death: AEG, Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega, Estate Executors r nowhere in sight
1:17 PM Feb 8th from web

randy is making a false equivalency by asserting that their not showing up at the arraignment means that they don't care about mj or that they don't want justice for him. those may be his feelings, but they're not facts. again, does the fact that janet didn't show up mean that she didn't love her brother? she obviously couldn't make it; maybe they couldn't, either.

besides, why would they *want* to show up? since mj's death, certain family members have done nothing but accuse aeg of having something to do with mj's death. branca and mcclain have been accused of forging mj's will. why the f*** would any of them show up to have to deal with that family?

You are correct. Michael let himself be leeched/robbed by his own family. However sometimes, he had no choice; his family blackmailed him (mainly papa Joe)= "Or you give me the money, or I make your life a living hell" or "Or you put me in your payroll or I'll sell false rumors to the press" (this is what Joe and Jermaine used to do) or "Or you give me millions or I'll boycott your career" (this is what Joe did to Latoya). However, he should have told them to FUCK OFF, a long time ago. Oh, and run away from them otherwise they'd stalk him to no end.

Kate also scares me the most.

The other day I was watching a BBC documentary. A part of the documentary consisted of bears and how they lived and blah blah blah. There was a part in which a male bear wanted to copulate with a female bear who had a baby bear. In order to fuck the female bear, the male had to kill the baby bear first. The female bear, which was MUCH smaller and weaker than the male one, refused to let the male bear kill her baby and fought with it until he gave up.

Katherine let Joe exploit, harass, abuse both physically and emotionally and hound her children.

You are correct. Michael let himslef be leeched by his family. Sometimes, he had no choice; his fam blackmailed him (mainly papa Joe). "Or you give me the money, or I make your life a living hell" or "Or you put me in your payroll or I'll sell false rumors to the press" (this is what Joe and Jermaine used to do). can you imagine, though, what would have happened if he didn't take care of them at least a little?

yes, in an ideal world he could tell them to f*** off, but in the real world, probably not. they were his family. ross, richie and timberlake made a clean break when they left their groups. those people weren't their family so they didn't have to worry about seeing them all up their faces again if they didn't chose to have them there. and still you have people dogging ross as if it was her *duty* to stay with the supremes and her fault that flo ballard died.

when you have a mother who's going to come crying to you about your brothers and their kids needing money, or a father hunting you down for money, or other siblings denouncing you in press conferences or releasing nasty records about you, that's a different can of worms altogether. factor in the guilty/blackmail factor and you're talking about a really untenable situation.

it may or may not be. the money generated on the estate since mj's death thus far may only take care of the interest payments on the loans he had; you can imagine what an interest payment would be on a $400 million debt. then there's taxes - fed, state, estate - on the new revenue. the creditor claims, however bogus or exaggerated, have to be sorted out. lawyers working on all of this have to be paid.

so yeah, i can see where the estate could still be in the red, or barely in the black. i've heard it stated that the complexity of the estate may mean that the probate process and court involvement will go on for at least a year, maybe longer.

yeah but all the initial reports after his death pointed out that his assets would cover any debt and since his estate will probably end up the biggest money earning entertainment entity (living or dead) plus the regular income MJ's estate earned on a monthly and annual basis, it's hard to believe his kids or grandma will be hurting for cash. If anything, MJ's death has created a major major major cash influx.

well, as i said, it may or may not be. i can see it going either way, particularly since were talking about the short term here. i know that the estate executor have stated in court papers that they expect the estate to be solvent, but they made no mention as to what that entailed.

"Or you give me the money, or I make your life a living hell" or "Or you put me in your payroll or I'll sell false rumors to the press" (this is what Joe and Jermaine used to do). However, he should have told them to FUCK OFF, along time ago. Oh, and run away from them otherwise they's stalk him to no end.

can you imagine, though, what would have happened if he didn't take care of them at least a little?

yes, in an ideal world he could tell them to f*** off, but in the real world, probably not. they were his family. ross, richie and timberlake made a clean break when they left their groups. those people weren't their family so they didn't have to worry about seeing them all up their faces again if they didn't chose to have them there. and still you have people dogging ross as if it was her *duty* to stay with the supremes and her fault that flo ballard died.

when you have a mother who's going to come crying to you about your brothers and their kids needing money, or a father hunting you down for money, or other siblings denouncing you in press conferences or releasing nasty records about you, that's a different can of worms altogether. factor in the guilty/blackmail factor and you're talking about a really untenable situation.

EXACTLY. The Jacksons were Michael's biggest enemies. Near them, Tom Sneddon is Mother Theresa of Calcuta to Michael.

One more thing: Kate manipulated Michael. She knew exactly how to manipulate him and she loved that fact. To outsiders she looks like a loving person. On the inside, things are much different. The other day, someone on MJJCommunity said that Michael was in denial; even his mother saw him as a cash cow whose dutty was to be the Jacksons slave.

I don't know about that lol Sneddon wanted him to spend the rest of his life in prison, or even be put to death! Joe never wanted him in jail! How would he make money off of him if he was in prison? lol

Sick. The scariest ppl r those who seem totally harmless on the outside. Joe is like Big Foot. Just a mean, stupid, bully. But Katherine- she's something scarier. She always could have done more for Michael, especially considering how much he adored her. Instead, she chose to "help" her other children. There is no excuse for allowing your 55 year old son to continue living with you, especially one with no source of income. She should be ashamed of herself.

Did she and Joe really break up, or is that just a front? Seems like she can't get enough of that man, and I can see why. They deserve eachother. Perfect match. neutral

She still loves him, aparently. Besides, she used to give him some of the money Michael used to give her. He used her to sweeten' Michael and, according to reports, Joe ordered her to beg her son/cry to her son to put his family in AEG's payroll. Joe knew she manipulated him easily and, therefore, took advantage of her by forcing her to "cry" or beg something to Michael.

I can only imagine:
Joe: "Kate, I need money. You're going to cry in front of Michael so that he will do what you want. If that doesn't result, guilt him into giving you as much money as he has."
Kate: ...*in love*
Joe: "Train the way you cry. It has to look convincing."

What kind of mother lets her 5 years old son be exploited? Remember when Michael said that even if he had spent the entire day sick, in a bed, Joe would force him to perform for hours, at night?
What kind of mother lets her child be abused in every way?
What kind of mother takes advantage (or let her sons and husband take advantage) of her child?
Yet, she still has the nerve to excuse Joe's behaviour. Remember the Jacksons: American Dream? The part in which Kate tells Michael he should do exactly what joe wants because he "is the reason why you're famous" and "because he had a master plan for you".
What kind of mother deceives her own child in order to let her husband leech off of him?

Yup; she's as bad as Joe, Jermaine, Randy and Latoya.

On a serious note: he did try to contact, along with Daphne Barak, Macauly Culkin's former agent. Culkin's father admitted that Joe phoned him and told him he had "a project". Funnily enough, 5 years after the trial Friedman told the same story. Coincidence? Slander?

I never said Kate didn't love her child. I just said she loved her husband WAY too much.

BTW, another case of denial! Take the pink colored glasses, boy.

The truth is: Nowadays, ANY mother who would let her husband exploit and abuse her 5 years old son would be in a courtroom. And the "my husband is so lovely and such a great parent" baloney (used by Kate) wouldn't work.

While I have my own beef about the Jacksons, I'm not going to waste an entire thread talking about how the family screwed or manipulated Michael, or whatever. The things that happened to Michael were unfortuate, but it was because of the people he was dealing with on a professional level, managers, lawyers, etc. Everybody sued Michael at one point, I don't remember one case filed against him from family members. And whoever is talking about Katherine Jackson is worst than Tom Sneddon is smoking crack. Or some potent weed, if so, give me some of that.

Irregardless,I'm an outsider looking in, my opinions are no better than Stacy Brown or Roger Friedman. I never met Michael, I never met or talked with any of the Jacksons except for one, but that doesn't mean I'm an "insider" or an expert, damn sure ain't a close personal friend.

I'm a fan, the only thing I'm entitled to is great music and entertainment, that's it. That's where my beef with the family begins and ends. Being a fan doesn't mean I knew, loved and cared about him more than his own blood. If he wasn't famous/if there was no Jackson 5, no moonwalk, or Thriller or music videos, tours, or whatever, I wouldn't give a shit about him, he would be just some other dude on the street.

I believe that the brothers got spoiled by success fame at an early age, I do believe that Michael was there biggest draw in the group. While the brothers were making babies, he was working hard, learning and creating new ideas. He had a vision that far exceed what his brothers were thinking.

Because of them being spoiled, they wanted the big arenas, the best special effects (Michael was mainly responsible for), a large pop audience, the biggest contract$, instead of looking for musicial quality (What's wrong with jammin, Jackie?). I wish they would've toured more under the banner of a band rather than an all singing/dancing group. I could've seen a Isley-like band featuring three brothers (Jermaine, Tito, and Randy) and a backing band. Jackie and Marlon were a liability IMO.

Why, there weren't great lead singers, Marlon is a great dancer, and could've been a great entertainer but he's lazy as hell from what I saw on the show. Jackie co-wrote some hits but the keyword is "co-wrote", he not that great of a songwriter or producer, he should've ventured into a different arena like Marlon did, such as a businessman or a sport agent.

We're only just getting the tv series on cable over here in Australia - loved the meeting between Jermaine/Tito and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis - that was such an ICONIC moment - the bass player and guitarist from THE JACKSONS and the bass player and keyboardist from THE TIME.

What I would love from the brothers is a tribute album and show, JUNE 25 would be nice and kind of like when QUEEN lost Freddie, and iNXS lost their Michael, have other singers come in an jam with the band. Obviously no one can replace MJ, but I can envision a show with Usher, Timberlake, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Ginuwine etc - all doing lead vocals on J5 and JACKSONS classics - with Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon - that's really the only way I see it working.

I wish them all the best with whatever they decide to do, I look forward to albums by THE JACKSONS, JANET, 3T, TITO and I think even JERMAINE is well overdue for another solo album....
