Party songs

I have wanted to ask this for a while.

Back in the day house party what song was a MUST to get the party going? You know; no one is dancing and you put this song on and everybody gets up and start dancing?

Here are my 3 picks (you get 3).

Erotic City --Prince

You and I -- Rick James ( any hit of 80's by RJ)

DMSR --- Prince

honorable mention for slow dance : Always and Forever -- Heatwave
"Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

I'm from an era from about 10 years later, but when I played these songs (or when they were played at school dances) went nuts:

-The Train, Quad City DJs
-Tootsie Roll, 69 Boyz
-This is How We Do It, Montell Jordan
-Hydrolics (clean or dirty version, but not at school dances), Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell

Most of these aren't musical masterpieces, but they got people dancin'.

Yeah I don't know much about hip hop but I have to agree with this is how we do it.

No one was dancing at my 10 year reunion in 1996. I went to the DJ and told him to play "The Electric Slide". Everyone was out there. He continued the momentum with "Macarena" and "Da Butt".

Unfortunately, when I graduated from High School, these were the party songs.
