Anyone heard about the supposed EU Blu-Ray release of Moonwalker coming out soon?

Coming out at the end of May - at least here in the UK anyway:

http://hmv.com/hmvweb/dis...&sku=11481

HMV getting an exclusive, which doesn't surprise me as they have the DVD exclusive also. I think perhaps they bought out the company that owned the rights to the UK distribution.

Thats great news!

Could it be Captain EO?!

Do blu ray players multiregion? That's one thing I hate about DVDs

I think it's up to the disc publisher to decide if a Blu-Ray disc should be multi-region or not. Unfortunately most publishers won't make their movies multi-region.

Yo guys...here's my excerpt of my VIBE Magazine commentary on the success of This Is It and overall comeback of Michael Jackson As usual, don't be afraid to leave comments on the blog...As I said in another thread, I want to know what the real MJ fans think...Peace....

Murphy’s Law: Dig U Better Dead

In life there are three inevitables: Death, taxes and Michael Jackson

Since his tragic passing on June 25, 2009, the Gloved One has been stuntin’ something hard from his record-breaking return to Billboard (Last summer, MJ held nine of the top 10 spots on SoundScan album charts.) to the global box office takeover of the concert documentary This Is It (that’s $259,315,980). If that wasn’t enough, MJ currently boast the #1 selling DVD in the country as This Is It has pushed more than 1.2 million copies, a first week sales record for a music film. Show off.

With seemingly every award breaking its neck to serve tribute to the King of Pop, the latest being the Grammy’s rather plastic MJ commendation—Celine Dion …really???—you almost expect the pedigreed canines at the upcoming Westminster Kennel Dog Show to trot out to the sounds of “Beat It” while wearing red, spiked, zippered leather jackets. Hey, you read it here first.

On the surface, such posthumous adulation is as shocking as For The Love Of Ray J. Elvis, John Lennon and Tupac are just some of the celebrities that have become larger-than-life deities after death, often times pulling in more annual income than they did when they were alive and raising hell. But watching the marathon wave of the Michael Jackson love fest has been an awesome and at time laughable exercise in hypocrisy....K. Murphy

I have finally watched This Is It, I like it a lot more than I expected to. I didn't think he'd be in any kind of shape vocally or physically. I wonder why he is singing live when he hasn't done so in many years, maybe it was in his contract. His dancing was still great, not prime but great nevertheless. You could see he was out of practice, some of the moves had me cracking up and the scenes where he says "i'm sizzling" had me howling as did the scene where he gets visibly pissed with the headphones being too loud. Poor guy was so gentle he would be lost in situations where he shoulc have been screaming. Lovable lovable mike. Well, he was far from at death's door that's for sure. My criticisms would be the same as they have been for years, Michael should have listened to Prince and scaled down on all the spectacles and just showcased his talent. Even so, I liked a lot of the effects and videos work and even the fantastic dancing of the talented crew. It was still very very good even though i didn't expect to like all the effects. His voice was great, I could see he was holding back but that he still had his range and still sounded like vintage Michael. It was bittersweet watching it, I'm still pissed after all these months over all the people that hurt him. Man gave everything he had to the world and got crucified for it.

I was speaking to someone who had worked on tour with Michael and said although he lipsynched during the tours, he still sang live. There's tapes from the July '88 shows from the Bad Tour in Wembley where although Michael lipsynched on Smooth Criminal and The Way You Make Me Feel, he still sang to the tapes

Yeah, that is a case of severe perfectionism, even great singers don't sound like they do on record. He was great and more than good enough to sing live. So what you can hear the breathing or mistakes , it's better that way.

The guy who mixed the July 14 and 16th shows at Wembley Stadium posted some snippets on Youtube

when lipsynching, singers usually still sing full out to give off a better looking synch lol If they wanted they could probably release concert dvds with Michael singing live throughout

I ain't reading through all this but I just wanted to say that my fave part of the movie was when the band stopped playing and MJ just stood there pretending to bask in the glow of the thunderous ovation that would happen during the real show. And Kenny Ortega tried to direct the band not to pause for so long and MJ told his ass, "It's sizzlin', it's sizzlin' . . . " spit

My interpretation was: "I'm Michael Jackson fool! I got this and don't need your direction, but thanks anyway. Now, I'ma get back to my adoring fans adoring my ass, mmmmkay???"

My new catchphrase is: I'm sizzlin', bitches, I'm sizzlin'! lol

I thought he was a little bit crazy, but in a really cool way. Cute, he really really loved this. I find the whole thing a little emotional, because I just get the feeling it has been edited to not show us how delicate he was.
He was just an original.

You can't be that talented and be completely there in the head lol
You've probably seen the Dangerous Tour rehearsals but he had the same attitude in that as he did in This Is It

A favourite snippet in a bonus feature is when Michael Beardan is talking about how long MJ would stand there in the first show before giving the cue for WBSS. They had a pool going on 6 minutes +.

Funny this is - opening night MJ could have rightfully held it for 10 minutes and people would be lapping it up.

One sad thing that has come from all this is how simply it disproved all the bull that was flying around before the shows - that he would only do 13 minutes, that he would come in on an elephant, etc.

Sad because in the world of Michael Jackson so many people were willing to believe the trash before even thinking it might not be true. Hell the man had to die for a coroner to confirm he actually did have vitiligo before people would believe him.

What do you mean by "delicate"?

Well, it doesn´t make sense to me with the rest of the text.

If you are talking about the Dirty Diana performance, then I think he didn´t. He took it out of the show and when he found out that Princess Diana loves the song, it was too late to put it back into the show. BTW, the way he speaks about her makes you think there might have been "something" going on between them. lol Plus he admited in the Schmuley tapes that she was his "dream" woman.

Yeah because the video description says that he DID sing Dirty Diana, unless he performed it at the other show that Diana wasn't present at.

He probably did perform it at other shows because he said he took it out not to offend her, so I guess just for the performance she attended.

He actually performed it. It was said he didn't perform it during the July 16th show but he actually did. He may have taken it out of one of the August shows but he definitely performed it during the first 3 shows at Wembley

The video makes it confusing. Michael said he took the song out of the show that Diana was attending, BUT at the end of the video, they played a snippet of him performing the song. It just wasn't clear if the video was saying that he DID perform it at Diana's show, or he DID perform it at a show Diana DIDN'T attend.

Unless someone at the show says otherwise who knows. I know during that tour he did like 9 shows at Wembley so he would have played it on other nights. May just be an over zealous fan who discovered it on a wembley bootleg and figured it was that show. It gets confusing as I seem to recall reports at the time saying he played it to the delight of Diana, and others claiming he didn't play it.

No clearer.
