They might have a copy but that doesn't mean they have the rights to release it. They would have to work out a new deal with the BBC which would be more hassle than I think they care to get involved with.

I mean, they won't even release stuff that they DO have the rights to, like the HIStory and Bad tour footage lol.....so what are the chances they're gonna want to try and put something out that they DON'T own? lol

Unfortunately a crappy VHS-sourced web rip is the best we're gonna get for "The Making Of Moonwalker".

The HIStory tour was horrible though. Damn near every song was lipsynced. There are copies of both HIStory and BAD tours out there, and the BAD tour is pretty good. I would bet though, that as time passes, someone is going to pull out those tapes, piece some stuff together, remaster the sound, and sell it. As Whoopi Goldberg said, rather cynically, "Michael Jackson is the gift that keeps on giving". She's right. All that stuff we've either heard about, downloaded a copy of, wished for, etc will eventually come out. It always does.

Funny you mention Moonwalker. I JUST downloaded an ISO of it the other day in hopes that it would be a copy without foreign language overdubs or subtitles. I had success. I burned the DVD last night, and it was a great DVD image. I'm not sure where it was released overseas or anything but it's nice to finally have a good copy of it. Every copy I was finding, even a really good AVI, was overdubbed in French or Spanish.

I LOVE the HIStory tour, he does some of the coolest dance moves in it cool..It's a shame that he was having throat problems at this time. I'm just glad that he didn't cancel it all together. Although on some of the tour he actually did sing live.(probably the early part of it)

As far as the DVD's there is soooo many things that can be released, alot in high quality as well..I'd like to see more Victory Tour and Triumph Tour myself..And as far I saw know Michael always hired cameramen to follow him everywhere and film everything biggrin

From the perspective of us fans looking at it now, yeah, the HIStory tour doesn't match up to the Bad tour.

But I saw the HIStory tour live, at Wembley, and it was one of the greatest days of my life. You just can't imagine the atmosphere. Completely electric. When that CGI intro started and Mike hit the stage, the screams of an entire stadium, the vibe.....wow I just can't explain it. Just hysteria to the max. Completely wild and awesome.

Knowing that all the shows were filmed is so frustrating! I'd pay hundreds for a video of that show. Hell maybe I'd even see 10-year-old me in the footage somewhere....LOL

Wow, from the videos you never really get a sense of how massive the stages were. Also, those crowds were HUGE! How many people did he play in front of during a HIStory tour concert? 50,000?

In Prague? When he was here, they said 150 000 people.

I think the show I saw at Wembley was something like 70,000 people and I clearly remember just being blown away by the amount of people. I can't even imagine a show with twice as many, that's just mindblowing.

Sorry to change the subject, but did anyone here get the Opus? How fucking big is it?
It needs two people to open it!
Fantastic content, but boy is it too big!

And they sent me 2 by mistake! I'm gonna get a piece of glass and make an MJ table out of them....!

Tomorrow would have been my second This Is It concert. I can't help but think what it would have been like to witness those shows live. To feel that buzz of anticipation and excitement in the O2 as the show started. To hear the roars go up with the intro of each song. For those "classic" moments and those "omg" ones that were sure to be made.

As for the release of other items, I think there is a fine balance that needs to be taken. With Michael gone it would have been easy for people to flood the market with quick cash in products that did nothing for his legacy (hello motown).

I always felt that the first anniversary of his death would be the perfect time to release a new album of previously unreleased tracks. And then let the DVD's of past concerts be released in the lead up to Christmas. I do know that a few years ago Sony was looking at releasing a "greatest live moments" DVD but I would rather have a concert series boxset.

At the end of the day, as long as it is done with the same respect and detail that Michael would have put into it had he lived, then I am fine to wait.

As for Moonwalker - it has been available here (Australia) on DVD for the past few years.

Has "Ghosts" ever gotten a proper DVD release? I have the VHS box set (with book and cd single) from years back and i picked up a Vcd copy of it yesterday. All crap quality though. Would love to get a decent copy of it. It really is a bizarre short film, I could never understand why it featured "2bad" and not really "Ghosts" or "Is it scary". All the family/kids stuff is painfully cheesy but the dance choreography is amazing.

Anyone heard about the supposed EU Blu-Ray release of Moonwalker coming out soon?

Coming out at the end of May - at least here in the UK anyway:

http://hmv.com/hmvweb/dis...&sku=11481

HMV getting an exclusive, which doesn't surprise me as they have the DVD exclusive also. I think perhaps they bought out the company that owned the rights to the UK distribution.
