Does anyone know if the MJ tribute will take place at the beginning of the show or at the end? If at the end, how long do the Grammys usually last when aired live?

Usually it lasts about 2 hours .. The MJ tribute will most likely air during the second hour of the show.

Very moving tribute to MJ on the Grammy Awards with Celine Dion, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, and Carrie Underwood singing "Earth Song" with Michael against the backdrop of his video. The stunner--what made me tear up a little--were the appearances of his children Paris and Prince. Totally shocked me. Prince vowed to carry on MJ's message of love to the world. And Paris, barely able to hold back tears, said "We Love You Daddy..." Heartbreaking but so touching at the same time. They did their Daddy proud.

My mom LOVES Earth Song and was surprised by the kids and 3T being there. She was expecting Jermaine to walk out lol

PrinceMJ and Paris were wonderful at the Grammys, but if Blanket had walked onstage with them, it would have been pandemonium in that auditorium, and all over the world, lol. Little dude looks JUST LIKE his father now, and people would have went crazy staring at him:

Imagine Blanket at 18! omg .... love .... lol

Poor Prince! He was so nervous. Paris actually, too. Bless them.

Thought the Grammy Tribute was cool - but I was hoping they would have included a little montage of Michael's best moments. I thought the kids did their Dad proud, as did the ensemble singing Earth Song.

Oh and on an aside - did anyone think during Beyonce's performance that the girl had seen TDCAU from This Is It? I couldn't understand the reason for the "soldiers" and maybe I am seeing too much in it, but it just took me back to that scene.

I was blown away with the Grammy's choice of song for MJ. The Earth song. I thought all of the singer's put a lot of passion into this song that clearly has a message and WOW, are people finally starting to listen to MJ's songs!? Celine, I thought, was really great. But the kids were the greatest surprise. Bless their hearts, they were so nervous and beautiful. Mike would have been so proud!

sag10 you put that so perfectly. Right now to the rose
biggrin

Let me just say, has anyone else noticed radio has been a lot
more MJ friendly after his passing? Kinda frustrating that they
weren't during his final years. I imagine him performing at 02
and his future tour would have forced them to be, but still..
Either way, I'm glad his kids will grow up in a world where their
dad is appreciated for being the true King of Pop that he always was
and will always be.

I wish there had been a montage of MJ's career, but all in all, the tribute was nice. It was different. I liked that they went with "Earth Song" instead of the usual "Billie Jean", "Beat It", "Thriller",etc. that everyone else likes to do. Songs such as "Earth Song" is really about who MJ was as a person and what his message was all about.

In all honesty though, I thought the best part of last night's performance was hearing MJ's powerful voice during "Earth Song". I was like damn, "Why is Michael sounding better than everyone performing". His voice is so brilliant. I also enjoyed seeing his kids of course. It was touching.

I know I'm late, but did anyone ever notice that Janet's song "Days Go By" from the 20 Y.O album has a part in it that sounds like a piece from MJ's "Human Nature"?

Starting from 3:10-3:30

Does it remind anyone of Michaels Falsetto bridge in HN?

The journalists´ idiocy has once again proved itself when I came across this article.
http://www.novinky.cz/kok...media.html
According to this article, the kids were drugged up at the Grammies. They were acting "weird". disbelief
I swear I could just machinegun some people. Mike surely knew what he was protecting them from. It seems to be beginning. Luckily the comments by the people are positive, defending the kids, which is very rare on this site.

What The hell is going on eek

Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Eminem Join “We Are the World” Remake for Haiti Relief

Lady Gaga, Eminem, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and Barbra Streisand are just a handful of the 100-plus stars scheduled to take part in a re-recording of “We Are the World” to benefit Haiti, producer RedOne told Rolling Stone yesterday at the Grammys. Other artists contributing to the new “We Are the World” — a remake of the 1985 USA for Africa charity single that was co-written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie — include Celine Dion, Fergie, Wyclef, Enrique Iglesias and more musicians who attended yesterday’s 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.

“I’m so delighted and so happy to get a dream call from Quincy Jones and Randy Phillips and Lionel Richie,” RedOne told RS. “I know that Lionel Richie has been asked like 150-something times to redo ‘We Are the World’ and he said no to everything until this Haiti thing happened. The moment he saw that it happened he was like, OK, ‘We Are the World.’ And to be one of the people they called to have fresh input to the song, to help produce the song — I have no words.”

According to RedOne, recording of the “We Are the World” remake will take place today in a Los Angeles studio. In addition to the all-star vocal talent, RedOne promises instrumentation from the likes of Orianthi (the guitarist for Michael Jackson’s This Is It show) and other big-name musicians. The AP reports Bono, Jason Mraz and Akon are also slated to appear on the track. “With music you want to help people feel something in a certain way, and this is something devastating that just happened and I am and we are the world,” RedOne said. “We’re going to be helping people that we don’t know. I have Haitian friends and stuff like that, but we’re going to be helping people that need help right now

Michael Jackson's doctor prepared to surrender, his attorney says
February 2, 2010 | 12:27 pm

A lawyer for Michael Jackson’s personal physician said Tuesday that the Houston-based doctor is in Los Angeles and prepared to surrender if authorities file charges against him in the pop star’s death.

“I don’t have any specific information that leads me to believe he is going to be charged this week," said lawyer Ed Chernoff, " but if he is, we’ve made it clear he’s available to turn himself in.”

The arrival of Dr. Conrad Murray and Chernoff, his lead attorney, from Houston set off a new round of speculation that authorities, who have been mulling a manslaughter case against the doctor since last summer, were about to file charges.

Chernoff said Murray was visiting L.A. on personal matters -- he has an infant son in Santa Monica -- and also planned to attend a strategy session Tuesday afternoon with his criminal defense team, made up of Chernoff, local counsel J. Michael Flanagan and Long Beach attorney Joseph Low IV. Low represents Nicole Alvarez, the mother of Murray’s infant son.

Murray acknowledged administering the anesthetic propofol to Jackson shortly before his death on June 25, according to police affidavits. An autopsy classified Jackson’s death as a homicide and said the cause was “acute propofol intoxication” in combination with the use of sedatives.

http://www.tmz.com/2009/1...z0YWq5PsNT

Prince Michael Malachi Jet Jackson -- the 24-year-old who claims to be MJ's lovechild -- is going back to court in the hopes of getting a slice of Jackson's fortune, even though he was already rejected by the people who run MJ's estate

PMMJJ just filed "objections of rejection" paperwork in L.A. County Superior Court, in which he begs a judge to "have determined that he is the biological son of decedent Michael Joseph Jackson ... and gain whatever benefits he is entitled to."

The Jackson estate had rejected PMMJJ's claim back in August, even though he provided a California birth certificate which lists Michael Joseph Jackson as his father.
