why is there no love for bigger girls?

adele and jazmine sullivan have great voices and are better than rihanna, keri and the rest but they don't get as much love. i'm sure there are many more women over the years who don't get the exposure they deserve.

But there's mad luv for Jen Hudson right?....Before that Jill Scott..I don't think their size has anything to do with it or they wouldn't have been signed in the first place..Many labels will sign the talent so the next label won't..but then don't know how to market or promote...Jaz had a big chance to capitalize on "Bust your windows",but the label blew it.When Kelis did "Caught out there"..the label jumped on it.True it's a image driven market and the skinny girls is the norm, but with hot songs and strong support, the big girls can't get in where they fit in too thumbs up!

There are quite a few girls that fall in the "bigger" category (as defined by Hollywood at least) and are successful, Beyonce, Janet, and Mariah being the leaders of the pack. Jill Scott, Lalah Hathaway's been around forever, Kelly Price R&B and gospel, Queen Latifah, Kelly Clarkson, that other American Idol chick that Simon was in luv with lol Raven Symone, J. Hudson...

I love the big girls. Martha and Izora are my favorites. The Two Tons of Fun with Sylvester sandwiched in the middle....

I don't think of Adele as being all that big... And that "pavement" song was a one-trick pony.

there's thin chicks that don't get a lot of video/air play. I don't think it's about size. Jazmine does those cotton commercials, they wouldn't feature her if they thought she was too big. it's all about what's appealing to the teen crowd. Right now they are overfed on Bey and Brit - and neither of those women are stick figures. lol dancing jig

The bigger girls are getting more love in the industry than the bigger guys. I can't even think of the last time I saw a fat guy riding the top of the charts. Rueben Studdard recently released a CD that got totally ignored.

Well, there is Fat Joe. And some of the other rappers have some weight to them, such as Jadakiss, Twista, and Mike Jones (but he recently lost like... half of him).

Big Pun and Biggie were... well... big, and they were chart toppers before they died.

I'm not buying that "bigger girls get not love" business. That crap would've applied in the 80s and 90s during the MTV era where looks and image counted over talent, but not today. We're so saturated with no talent broads and douchebags, I would welcome a large woman or man, just as long as they have talent.
