1. Just so you know, Tell It To My Heart is also a latin freestyle classic. So for anything, Taylor's 1st f***-up was giving up on THAT type of dance sound.

2. Taylor's 2nd f***-up was not reinventing her image very well (something that Madonna has done very well over the years).

Just saying.

That dance sound was primarily given up on by the makers themselves. I mean just look at Lisa Lisa and The Cult Jam's evolution. Album One Underground group, Album Two, Pop/Rb Group with a touch of old school and dance, Album 3 Dance, rb leaning towards hip hop, album 4 club anthem...leaning towards hip hop and rap, after that the suggestion to lose the cult jam.

Taylor Dayne & Expose should have been like The Cover Girls and work within the latin freestyle format throughout their careers. Granted, hip-hop/rap would have still ran them off FM radio. But at least those female artists would have went out swinging (THINK: Lil Suzy)! cool

Well i was always let down that the support for the "latin freestyle" didnt stay around, i think there should have been more actual Latin language on these tracks, especially with artists like Lissette Melendez,Safire,Cynthia etc...they all spoke the language and i think had they done alot more in that arena it would have a more lasting effect. To me Latin music buyers are more loyal to the artists depsite age or trend.

love this live, but abbreviated performance of "Love Will Lead You Back". also cool to see her sing a bit of "Rhythm of The Night" with Aaron Neville and the late Aaliyah.

I seem to recall personal issues being mentioned along with disputes with management and general powers that be in entertainment- whether these things were true I don't know, but she always did and does have a great voice. Wish she would come out w/ new stuff.

I believe it was Taylor who sang the national anthem at either an Islanders or Rangers game back in 90s- sounding and looking loaded (drunk). Seems she slipped and nearly fell after stepping off the carpet they had layed out for her. Was not an impressive night for her... I never saw her again until the "Gone Country" show last season.

She's a great singer,but unfortunately,alot of artists who came out around that time (late 80s/early 90s) didn't last very long.Lisa Stansfield,Tara Kemp,Shanice,Tracie Spencer,Sophie B. Hawkins,etc....you could make a very long list.

I don't know why, but she was HUGE everywhere in that 1988 -1990 period and then faded off. Maybe people got tired of her perhaps. Its hard to say, musical tastes are so fickle. Her later songs weren't as upbeat as "Tell it to my heart" which was actually brilliant. Perhaps the first Jewish singer not to sound corny or schmaltzy.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time
