The Chaka Khan Set (First Decade 1973-1983)

This set focuses on her Rufus & solo period prior to the release of the I Feel For You album.

...Maybe Your Baby

...Feel Good

...You Got The Love

...Once You Get Started

...In Love We Grow

...Somebody's Watching You

...Pack'd My Bags

...I'm A Woman (Lomi - R.I.P.)

...Sweet Thing

...At Midnight

...Everlasting Love

...Close The Door

...Blue Love

...Destiny

...Do You Love What You Feel

...Live In Me

...Ain't Nobody

...Love Has Fallen On Me

...What Cha' Gonna Do For Me

...Move Me No Mountain

...And the Melody Lingers On (A Night In Tunisia)

...Be Bop Medley

And no, I didn't "forget" any. These are the ones I wanted in the set. wink
If there are others from this specific period you want to post, feel free.

Glad you enjoyed it. wink

I tried to make a chronological set that included some familiar tracks with deeper ones that never get discussed here.
It was also meant to show her progression as an artist and how versatile she was over that time period.

falloff

Gotta love the know-it-alls though lol

This song....

Resonate with me so much!

Time has placed us here
Afraid of fear
We've seen through tears
That never should have flown
And still in love, we grow.

I've LIVED those lyrics! And the way she wails after the bridge shots through my heart like a bullet.

Everytime this song ends, I feel a strange mixture of sadness and relief at the same time.

Fact is, she's the ONLY artist ever, that has aroused conflicting feelings in me whenever she wails touched

Ultimately this is what music is supposed to do, register a strong emotional reaction from the listener.

Mine was triggered after watching her Soul Train Award tribute and noticing that among the current crop of female vocalists, there still Ain't Nobody in her league.
