Yes. They would have to try to market a bunch of 50 year olds to a bunch of 20-somethings. That's extremely hard. Not to mention, their older audience probably wouldn't buy it because most older people don't buy music. The people around here are the exception.

I'm in the 20 somethings and trust nobody checking for them unless michael is part of it lol.I'm not throwing no shade at them at all i'm a fan of them but i'm being realistic here.

Exactly.

You know, they have enough kids that they could suit up and add as a 5th member (if they have the voice and talent).

Enough kids? you mean their offspring ?..They better off making a NEW group with their nephews instead of adding their nephews to the group lol
[Edited 1/18/10 12:44pm]

Hell, some of them have kids that are close enough to fit in until they would look like a brother. lol

The family had been trying to make music but it seems like things got in the way and you can name them on both hands. But to me it seems they have a lot of opportunities so I think ego gets in the way.

I didn't say u did. wink I agree that the Jimmy and Terry song was so much more mature than that "Jackson Family Dynasty". I don't know why, but I don't like songs that tell a "history" or anything like that. Especially if u are talking about ur own family history. It's a bit too cliche for me.

I think cliche is a good word for it. Another thing that struck me about the brothers is the contrast between their work ethic and that of Michael or Janet. They kind of act like they think success should just fall into their lap simply because their name is Jackson whereas MJ and Janet don't give that impression.

Egos and mistrust is there too. If they could get over themselves they have the talent to produce some good songs with Jam and Lewis. Winning over the clueless music consumers of today is a whole 'nother issue, LOL!

that's exactly what i mean when i posted these guys are interested in the trappings of fame, not music. they do expect that b/c 40 years ago they had 4 number one singles in a row, had young girls chasing after them, and got lots of money, that that's all supposed to happen again.

well, it's not going to. the original j5 sound and image was created by barry gordy and motown, not them. the jackson sound had mj as an integral part of it. he's gone, randy doesn't look like he wants to be part of the group anymore, and going by what i've seen posted about this show, jackie doesn't appear to have enuf pull within the group to reign in jermaine's ego and have them focus around a theme for the album, what they want to say, etc.

i'm sorry, i'm not convinced that these guys have been working on music for all these years. if so, they wouldn't be so disjointed now. i think back on mj when he went to work with quincy. he already had 'don't stop til you get enough' written and had the basic music to go with it. what did these guys bring to the table for jam and lewis? doesn't sound like a lot, which you wouldn't expect from guys that into 'their' music.

I didn't see this posted: http://concreteloop.com/2...ers-gotham

Janet Jackson covers the new issue of Gotham, and she speaks on New York, her new book, her new album, her New Year’s resolutions and, of course, Michael’s death.

On what she’s taken from Michael’s death:
“When you hear people say life goes on, it’s really the truth. You can’t stop living. It becomes a part of you. I feel a bit selfish because there are times I feel I shouldn’t be doing this, but I enjoy my work and I have to keep doing it. I have to keep my life going. There are days that are harder than others.”

On her New Year’s resolutions:
“I want to learn a language. I haven’t decided which, but it’s between French, Spanish and Italian. I also want to get closer to God.”

On her new album:
“It’s going to be a little different. The writing is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep on moving with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.”

On her new book:
“I hope it’s inspiring for all ages. I’m talking about weight loss
, confidence, self-esteem—especially in your youth. It’s not an autobiography, but there are little anecdotes that I give here and there from my childhood all the way to the present that I thought would be interesting and helpful to share.”

On what she loves about New York:
“Everything. I love the energy–the creative energy. I’ve been here for 12 years and I will be here for the rest of my life.”

That last episode was so depressing , I was about to get pissed because I wasn't sure if they was letting the cameras into the place (burial site) but it's sad though. Too bad nobody in the group was able to achieve great solo success maybe not near Michael staus but at least Janet staus. Yeah I know Jermaine had his solo career but not enough to carry the group. It really show they can't do nothing without Michael. Sad

it's not that they can't do with out michael it's that michael was the focus and when the focus is taken away other people need to strp up. it's hard enough having a brother who's has so much succss cause everything they ev do is compared to michael.even janet who has done fine on her own still gets compared. i just think jermaine shouldn't focus on getting a hit so much. alot of hits today aren't even good anyways. they should just focus on making some good melodies that the jacksons are known for cause i know some can write and produce.

i hope they listened to what terry lewis said because he was speaking reality.they need to leave the whole j5 thing alone, there is no more jackson5,you cant replace michael jackson its impossible. now if they are really serious about making new music they need to get randy and just make a JACKSONS album, and stop chasing that 'hit', its not gonna happen, the current young artists have a hard time getting hits, so they need to realize that their hits days are long gone.if i was them i would put more energy into the reality show, they should do another season.i like the way they deal with mj's passing on the show, its not over the top but its there, when they talk about the old days and stuff he's just their brother, its very natural.

Well that's what I said before NOBODY else in the group has had Separate Success or even Popular enough to help carry the group. For whatever reason they don't have what michael had for people to care and Michael sung most of all the songs so . They can't do it without him if they could we wouldn't be having this convo lol maybe they have a chance if randy could get in there but even with that it might not happen. But like I said earlier I wish they had started something after michael left and continue but I gues people didn't give it a chance because Michael is not part of it. And yes janet get's compared but janet has her OWN thing going , she was able to Separate herself from the brothers.

I agree, focus on the reality show, release some concert DVDs (which we all want!), release unreleased music

Honestly though why do they need to come back out? They prove themselves , they already legends they don't need to do anything else. Maybe they need the extra cash I don't know. Jermaine seems to be the main one that wants to perform go out there on your own and perform. In the meantime they can release those DVD'S and help the new generation of jacksons.
