prince sampled doug e fresh??

So i was listening to doug e's JUST HAVIN FUN and i couldnt help noticing how it sounded similar to bob george. that one robotic background vocal effect. just curious if its like a legit sample, or a coincidence or just my imagination lol
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!
