I agree. Queen Latifah was out of place on this track. They should've had Da Brat on the final verse.

confused That's ridiculous. Da Brat had only been on the scene for less than a year when this remix was done. It showcases the three most successful solo hip-hop females of the late '80s to mid-'90s, which I assume was the point. Either way, I thought they all came correct.

Excuse you, but the Da Brat was THE first female rap artist to ever have an album go platinum. And that was her debut album at that (Funkafied). Therefore, Da Brat was one of those most successful females.

But that's beside the point.

The point that I was applying is that Queen has the weakest verses on that track as if she was obviously looking/sounding out of place. If Brandy could've done this remix all over again, Da Brat would have been a better fit on the track AND the video with MC Lyte & Yo-Yo (IMO of course).

Excuse you, but I already knew Da Brat was the first female rap solo artist to go platinum. That doesn't change the fact that she was new to the scene and didn't fit in with the vibe of the established hip-hop females guesting on new girl Brandy's remix.

Loved it, but I have not heard it in such a long time. I have this song on cassette too, or use to. I threw all my cassettes away 6 months ago. What on earth! wink

nod "Baby" is probably my favorite song on the album. I also have a soft spot for the original version of "Brokenhearted" and the "I Dedicate" interludes.
