Who has seen Stevie Wonder OR Cher live . . . LATELY? Last week I found out that Stevie is in Vegas Thanksgiving weekend. So I booked my trip two days ago. Turns out my homegirl can get me a hookup for Cher's show too and I may even get to meet her.

I envy you. I was on Priceline, Orbitz, etc. seeing if I could somehow make the trip to Vegas to see Stevie. No such luck.

I would probably see Cher. It all depends on what type of show you want to see. You know Stevie is going to do a traditional concert. You know Cher is going to do an over the top huge production. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I saw Stevie on thursday and he was AMAZING!!! did a nearly 3 hour show and tore the house down. The whole place was jumpin by the end. I left the show with a sweaty shirt and and sore throat. Go see Stevie!!! It's what Jesus would do. "When want 2 hear new music, make it" Prince

I have been fortunate enough to see Stevie in Chicago twice and Milwaukee twice in the last two years. One was the free concert at Grant Park during The Taste Of Chicago last year and it was the best of the bunch. Most recently I saw him perform with John Legend at Summerfest three days after MJ died. It was a great show. He rarely does the same show twice. In 2007, he did My Eyes Don't Cry on talkbox, the next year he did Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher by Jackie Wilson. He always does a few different tracks and pulls a rare one from his catalog. I love it. Stevie and his entire band is amazing. I love how after the show ends, the crowd is going "Damn, that was a great concert!" [Edited 10/25/09 22:14pm] Awesome! Did you try Travelocity??? I got a room at the Trump, air, and airport transfers for $658. You have to keep trying though because the prices fluctuate hourly it seems. I guess it also depends on where you're flying in from. Yeah, I figured that Cher is totally a Vegas style production which is cool. That's what she does. With Stevie it's really about the musical performance. So they're totally night and day. I was just worried that Stevie might be a lil . . . boring. You don't need directions and you don't need cash. I love Las Vegas and always have a great time, I was just there in June. But I'm not a HUGE fan of either artist. I mean I love me some Stevie but as a live performer I'm not really expecting much since he's gonna be stationary. As for Cher, I'm not quite sure what to expect from her. I haven't seen either one of them but given the chance I'd go with bells on. I think you're gonna have a real good time at both shows. I went backstage in Dallas and it was a magical experience. Especially to hear him sing Rocket Love 8 feet away from me. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Cher just stands in one place while her fifty gay dancers hop, leap and twirl around her. It was shocked at her lack of movement...She sounds great though. Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I hear it is more of an impromptu show. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

He has it every year as a fund raiser to get under privileged kids toys for Christmas. They usually have a different array of artists scheduled then Stevie plays. I understand in the past he has called other artists on stage with him and they sing. No line up has been announced, but they have had people like Angie Stone, Eric Benet and others in previous years. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I've seen Stevie Wonder last year and he was amazing. From the moment he started offstage with a Miles Davis tune on harmonica til the very last encore it was all good. It was so good that we tried to get tickets for the second night (but we didn't manage that, unfortunately).

Saw Stevie twice in the last 2 years. Last year at the Taste of Chicago (for free) and in the fall of 2007 in Detroit. The Detroit show was easily the better of the two. Dunno if it was because it was a hometown show, but he played for like 3+ hours and played everything you'd ever want to hear. Great, great show. At the Taste, I was a little underwhelmed. But it was my second time in less than a year and the circumstances were very different. Definitely worth seeing, but I think it has a lot to do with the setting and the setlist.

Saw Cher in 2000, I think. When she was riding high from Believe. Was a pretty good show. From what I understand, the never-ending Farewell Tour was pretty much the same show. Don't know if she's changed it up for her Vegas stint, but it was great fun when I saw her. (But I'm totally queer for Cher). I'm totally looking forward to a Cher-ly, queerly campy experience with Cher. You don't need directions and you don't need cash.
