Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake need to get a style of their own.
What is working for Prince is not necessarily gonna work for them.

It sounds kinda Princey....

oh for fuck's sake, that IS their style. Everyone is going to sound like someone at some point! Prince has sounded like Rick James and Santana more than he's sounded like himself at times! He's sounded like (and played) Sly Stone and James Brown more than himself at times. Just because someone makes soul/R&B music, sings in a falsetto and writes another great sex ballad doesn't mean they're stealing Prince's style. Prince has borrowed more than he's created, moreso in live shows. All those fills, hand gestures, "turn it around!" calls, etc? You think he created that stuff? Go listen to Sly records. Go listen to Earth Wind & Fire. Go listen to James Brown stuff. SO much you'll find you've heard before.

When did P sound like Rick. One artist used keyboards and the other was using horns. Do you really think P' music/voice sounded anything like Rick's. (LOL)

You are impossible to deal with. Your brain is on Pluto....a non planet. I try to be logical with you, but it's truly pearls before the swine. If you're going to cherry pick for a fight, letitgo. Makes ya look repetitive.

Actually the much better thing he is doing right now is the track with Leighton Meester called "somebody to love" she sounds freaking hot and she can sing much better than any pop star out there now, it her one song is more interesting than alot of "vets" at this point. Her album is due later this year or early next.

I've heard it, but her vocals are tuneless. Nevertheless, as reported on E! news( they played the tape), she told a L.A. radio station that she'd much rather title the song "Someone To Fuck". Of course, she used the handy "F- word" euphemism while on the air.

Well chalk that up to production, you are going to hear that everyones records at this point, but she can sing, heard her demos from years ago, light years better than the pop ladies out there, her demos put her in the Sarah McClaughin mold, but a label wants to easily play her up as a sexy pop star, i mean did you think a label would try something different?

I'll give her a second listen, but currently all I like is the cover art for the promo.

I'm sorry but I cannot see it. Watching him perform, especially dance, kills any appeal he might have to me. Have you seen him in the new Rick Ross video? Sad.

is it just me or is the melody exactly the same as J Holiday "Bed"?

sounds practically exactly the same.

you could probably put the acapella of J Holiday over this and it would sound the same.

SoulAlive

Robin Thicke is back and ready to steam up the R&B/soul scene with "Sex Therapy".

A follow up to 2008s "Something Else," Thicke's new album "Sex Therapy" borrows its title from a recently released single.

Due for an official release October 20, the single precedes a series of gigs for the "Magic" and "Lost Without You" singer who tapped award-winning producer Polow Da Don to lead his latest effort.

According to Rap-Up, Thicke's new album "Sex Therapy" is due for release December 8 with production from Scott Storch and Jeff Bhasker.
