Cliff Richard - We Don't Talk Anymore

I was humming this at work today, so when I got home I looked it up on YouTube.

It's a great song - probably Cliff Richard's best. Not that I'm a fan or anything. I just think it's a great song.

I used to like this song.

I didn't realize that he had been around for so long until recently.

Reminds me of recess play during the early 80's. Don't know why! lol

But I used to love this song.

I think he was 39 when 'We Don't Talk Anymore' was released in 1979. He's really been around forever. I think he's only six years younger than his closest American counterpart, Pat Boone.

Not that he's got that much in common with Pat Boone... Yes, they're both old and vocal about their Christian faith, but Cliff is at the "slightly more liberal" end of the Christian spectrum... He's been in a glass closet for years. I mean, he lives with a male priest which is a bit of a giveaway. lol

Johnny Hallyday is usually cited as the French version of Pat Boone and Cliff Richard. All three have been performing since before The Beatles even existed and each has only really had major success within their homelands.

It's fascinating really. I mean how each of these men represent the cultural differences between three nations.
