JACKIE JACKSON "IN My Dreams"

Imagine if Motown would have promoted this instead of pulling it soon after it's release.

The folks at Hip-O Select/Motown need to re-release this album! Do I Owe is my favorite gem off of this album.

The whole album was bangin'. This LP was released in late September 1973 to little fan fare and promotion and was pulled off the shelves soon after.

It had originally been scheduled for release a year earlier in 1972 but was withdrawn for unknown reasons. If released at that time, would have been a top 40 album, (IMO.)

I believe this LP would have charted probably top 40-50, pretty good for the 3rd singer in the J5.

According to insiders like La Toya and Moldanoado or whatever Jermaine's ex name was Jackie was a scarred and tortured soul. Michael also said at one point that Jackie got it from Joe quite a lot. La Toya said Joseph never liked him and being the oldest Joseph was hard on him. She said that if he wouldn't have been so troubled by his past he would have been a star in her opinion.

He wasn't messing with Paula in 73 though, that was 10 years later.
Out of all the boys Jackie looked the least like Joe. He was only one never to have surgery and unlike the other brother(minus MJ) he has never been bankrupt. He and MJ were very similar in certain ways. He also seemed very protective towards Michael.

And When the groove is dead and gone, you know that love survives and we can rock forever. R.I.P Michael.

Yes, Jackie always seemed protective of Michael. He was always very sensitive (like Michael) as well. His speaking voice kind of reminds of Michael's also.

Jackie loved Michael for sure. This heartbreaking phone conversation shows a devastated Jackie after Michael's death

That song is why I bought the album!

I kinda forgot the story of the album being "pulled" but that's why I get a little surprised when I come across second hand copies (relative to seeing Jermaine's old schitt)

Hopefully Hip-o-Select reissues it. Jermain's LPs were just reissued on CD in Japan Mini-Sleeves, so maybe Jackson boy is next (with the outtakes!!!)
