Updated: 'Michael Jackson's This Is It' 2-CD Set (Oct 27)

September 21, 2009

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has approved a deal with Sony Music Entertainment to allow the soundtrack for the Michael Jackson movie “This Is It” to be released at the same time as the theatrical rollout of the film.

The move enables Sony and the superstar’s estate to cash in on some synergistic marketing at a time when demand for Jackson-related properties remains high.

Jeryll Cohen, an attorney for the special administrators of Jackson's estate -- John Branca and John McClain -- had argued that the deal would provide the estate with “an immediate and substantial cash advance from Sony.”

“In order for the album to be completed in time to be released simultaneously with the film, Sony must begin work on the album immediately,” Cohen said.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff approved the deal Thursday afternoon.

i totally disbelieve the notion that there were ever going to be real concerts happening.

nothing more than this is what was going to become of any idea of a string of concerts.

OK I'm going to start something here. I honestly believe that Michael is NOT dead, that really isn't him in the footage. The moves-mediocre, the face is not him. I firmly believe that it is E Cassanova, and that Michael has checked out and is in hiding.
Goosebumps (or lack thereof) don't lie, no matter the glossy production.
That is my opinon, and many of you may object to it but I am entitled to think what I want, so please don't try to change my mind cause you wont.

Michael is deceased and no conspiracy theory is going to bring him back. A new DVD or soundtrack will have to do for now.

No, kenla, Michael's gone. His kids and family looked (and are) heartbroken. No way to fake that.

Same here but just differently, can't change my mind on even a glimpse that he's alive. It's like Elvis. Both of them are gone. So is Tupac.

I did read some of it, but formed my own conclusions based on the "This is It" of "Michael" that I have seen. It just aint cutting it for me. I know that a lot of people probably think that those of us who don't believe it are crazy, and I will accept that.

I know what you stated is ur opinion, but come on, if MJ wasn't dead, the hospital staff, coroner's office and others would be apart of the scam.

When 2pac died, there were too many loop holes and stories where people hadn't seen a body, but not with MJ.

Anyway, I have a feeling that there is more to MJ's death than we know.

Back on topic, I hope the soundtrack is not just another GH package. I hope it is actually contains some live vocals. We haven't gotten a live MJ album since the 80s.

Same shxt that's on every other MJ compilation; A bunch of his hit singles and 1 or 2 new song(s). I wonder if we'll ever get a MJ album of all new material
