I am willing to believe that half of the gospel artist do not live the life they sing and preach about. I really don't believe they ever have it's just harder to keep things on the DL these days. There is just as much booze, drugs, and sexual deviant behavior going on in the church circles (Zachary Timms to name one ) as it is in the secular community. I am not really that shocked with Tonex I like some of his music. I think the biggest shockers are yet to come.

On a different not In the bilble weren't some of those people equally as screwed up as alot of these gospel artist and preachers appear to be and yet in spite of all there flaws, faults, sins and short comings god STILL saw fit to use and bless them.

Just a thought.

Dave Hollister

Kelly Price

And a set of other names that escape me at the moment.

Point is, if you're a gimmick-free R&B VOCALIST, the industry is not a place to be these years.

All those people got a break in R&B. What we all know is that, historically, folks cut their teeth singing gospel in the church, then go professional in the secular and R&B, and sometimes return to their original gospel roots. SavonOsco's statement to me said that there are specific people who tried to go pro in R&B, couldn't, and then tried another genre, in this case gosepel. If that's what the statement meant I am asking who s/he is talking about. wink

Someone answered the question already I see..But I'll use your argument..If Whitney Houston(who cut her teeth in the church) didnt blow up with Arista and started doing gospel, then she's no different than Kelly Price.Kelly Price tried R&B and couldnt, then tried another genre, just like u stated above.I dont see what more you're looking for? Others have done this,it's not that big a thing.
