Madonna needs to retire.

Madonna's new single Celebration has got to be her worst song ever. She needs to give it up. Her last few songs lack any originality and are so banal. In her videos she's trying so hard to look cool, but she looks old and tired. To be still feeling herself up at 51 years old is just embarassing! No-one is interested.

Thanks, Tips.

The only thing she 'needs to' do is continue to do what she wants to do.

And I would suggest that what you (and others that do not like what she does) need to do is not listen/watch her and concentrate on shit you like.

i think all of them (madonna, prince, and janet) need to go back to the drawing room and figure it out or give it up. prince hasn't made an exciting record since the beginning of this decade. madonna was on to something with confessions but otherwise she's been horribly boring. janet still makes "fun" music but i'm over hearing about how horny she is.

I don't think either of them suck. I think they've all become incredibly lazy and/or safe. I just want to see some fire in their work, some excitement. maybe Janet's next release will be intense due to the loss of MJ...but who knows. the three of them have been famous and successful for too long and now they're resting.

I don't like her new song at all but I don't think she needs to retire.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Retire? She is the most successful female touring ever and had one of the highest grossing tours this year. Not to mention that her last cd had many relevant producers working with her. Madonna aint going anywhere.

Thats my problem with Madonna. The last time I was excited by her was the music album era. I've been incredibly dissapointed with almost everything since. I do like the new song and the filmclip though. I like it when Madonna doesnt try to look and act pretty. Which is a large part of what I hate about the Hung up video, and the Hard Candy era and tours, it seems like shes trying too hard.

She is a great role model. I'd rather have a mother like her then some uptight repressed religious freak

Top 5 topics

1. Are they Michael's biological children? (followed by a picture comparing Blanket to a young Michael)
2. How come Prince hasn't acknowledged Michael's death?
3. Who's better? Madonna or Janet?
4. Michael Jackson wasn't a real musician because he didn't play instruments like Prince
5. Was Michael murdered?

It's not that I get tired of the posts, I just get tired of the repetitiveness that people say.

Out of the 'Big Three', Madonna's more relevant than Prince to most of the World confused , but still less popular than MJ woot!, but given Michaels condition sad , surprisingly she's more skeletal.

The only time I can ever think of Madonna being more popular than Michael was the early 00's. He really had the lowest point in his career then. Michael somehow rebuilt himself in a favourible light in the last few years and I can never work out how. He was still more popular then Madonna even when not releasing original records.

Lol, her "Sweet & Sticky" tour was named highest grossing tour of all time by a solo artist not too long ago. "Hard Candy" was a hit as well. I'd say many are intersted in Madonna. As for the quality of her music, I'm not too crazy about "Celebration" either but it's for a greatest hits album. Not a big deal. I've rarely been dissapointed in Madonna's albums and I thought "Hard Candy" was pretty decent. I don't understand that logic though that just because she's getting older means she should retire. As long as Madonna still enjoys what she's doing and the public is still interested, she should keep going.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

Relevant producers does not equal relevant music all the time, as evidenced with Madonna. Sorry! TRUTH.

Celebration will be her 40th Number One hit on the Billboard Dance Play chart. Janet is her closest competition with 16

i'm surprised janet is 2nd...i would think someone like britney who caters to the dance club world more than janet would be number 2. there's only a handful of janet remixes that i'm crazy about and most of her songs, while very pop, are r&b-kissed and not out and out pop-dance tracks. oh well, learn something new (and useless) everyday. lol

Janet has 18 No. 1's on that chart.

Someone else mentioned Britney - she actually hasn't found much success on that chart.
