What are 2 things that Michael Jackson & Bruce Wayne have in common?

1. They both dead. Michael/The King Of Pop in real life. Bruce Wayne/Batman in the DC Comic Universe.

2. Both icons have too many other artists/characters that wanted to replace them.

In the case of Bruce Wayne, the situation is told with DC Comics' Battle For The Cowl series. There were many of Gotham City's heroes, an anti-hero, and even a villain that wanted to be "The New Batman". In the end, Dick Grayson/Nightwing ended up become the new Batman with Damian Wayne (Bruce's only biological son with Talia Head) as the new deadlier Robin.

In the case of Michael Jackson, there is NO recording artist alive in our reality that is qualify to win The Battle For The Glove, never mind being "The Next Michael Jackson" and/or "The New King Of Pop". But that hasn't stop some music fans and even a few artists to say otherwise.

The list of artists mention as suggestions (don't laugh too hard!!!):

Janet Jackson (Michael's sister of course!)
Kanye West
Beyonce
Usher
Chris Brown
Justin Timberlake
Madonna (already a Queen Of Pop)
Prince (The only other man to dominate the 80's beside Michael)
Kylie Minogue
Shania Twain (Come On Over was THE biggest selling album of the 90's, Thriller-like success)
Britney Spears
Lady Gaga

Thomas Troelsen

And THIS list might grow a lot long as increasing number of threads about this issue continues overtime in the Org and other sites.

Again, no one is good enough to replace Michael. But if you could write up a great fictional OR non-fictional story on who should win in The Battle For The Glove, how would you let the story end?!?

But IIRC, it looked like he was reborn or shifted back in time or something. That miniseries was an incoherent mess. disbelief

No, no, no. That is what Marvel Comics is doing with Steve Rodgers/Captain America.

In DC Comics, Bruce Wayne/Batman is really dead. The only real problem is that after the Battle Of The Cowl storyline, Tim Drake/Red Robin is now THE only superhero that is convince that Bruce is still alive.

Even Bucky came back! And he was the one who was supposed to stay dead forever.

I think that just leaves Captain Marvel as the only hero who's stayed dead so far hmmm

it's so refreshing to see someone actually believing this "so and so is really dead" shit from DC and Marvel. touched

I know, right?

Batman can never die permanently. DC has too much put into Bruce Wayne for Batman to suddenly become someone else. I can see them keeping this up for maybe a year, but Bruce will somehow return.

It's in the same issue that has his death! You're crazy if you think Bruce Wayne is dead for good. They just need him to be a Black Lantern for Blackest Night.

And if Bruce Wayne/Batman isn't a Black Lantern, then Tim Drake/Red Robin will be proven right about Bruce faking his own death.

Damn, it is as confusing as a bad soap opera.
