From listening to these clips,it appears that this CD is mostly a Quiet Storm affair.I don't hear alot of uptempo funk here.

This still sounds like a more satisfying CD than the one on Cash Money Records (home of Lil' Wayne).

I'm interested to hear it, but that last CD she had out a few years back was really awful.

If you're looking for the hard, gritty funk she did in the 80s,you won't find it here. This album is mostly laid-back.Alot of midtempo grooves.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. I didn't even buy it. To me, Teena is so hit and miss when it comes to albums.

Teena is very good live to me. She always sounds great. Keith, not so much. I've seen him twice and didn't like either of the shows. He was just ok.

From the clips I've listened to on Soultracks.com, I'm loving what I'm hearing! By far, the best CD I've heard this year! I will be in the store on Tuesday snapping this one up! This may prove to be a fairly decent summer for grown-up music. I just listened to some samples for Will Downing's upcoming CD and it sounds great!

I wish it was Teena Marie on a bill with somebody else....maybe Jeffrey Osborne.I would definitely go! I've never been a huge fan of Keith Sweat, although I really like his first album.

Now, the 2 times I did see Keith, he did play almost every hit from his first album. I think he knows the importance of doing all of those songs. How can you have a Keith Sweat show without "Right and a Wrong Way"?

I don't get it. Why when certain artists associated with the funk genre of the '70s and '80s suddenly go ADULT CONTEMPORARY on later releases? Why? I mean... disbelief

Yeah,it's strange isn't it? These are the very people who should really be funking it up and showing the youngsters how it's done! lol To be fair,I think the record labels put pressure on them to go this route.

You didn't like 'Sapphire' at all? What about the two songs with Smokey Robinson? I thought those were nice music

My only problem with that CD (as well as 'La Dona') are the cheesy hip-hop sounding tracks that Teena insists on doing.I always have to skip past those songs.Fortunately, the good moments on those albums outweigh the bad, imo.

I thought the new Smokey trax were ok, but I just didn't like it.

I think she insisted on doing the hip-hop stuff because she was on Cash Money and they probably thought the trax were "hot". I think this new project is different.

I absolutely don't get why today's producers are trying to make yesterday's artists sound modern. It doesn't work at all. Also, what's up with trying to make her (and Mariah's, for that matter) voice sound like a sample loop?
