I heard that the leg pics are old and it's from a spider bite.

that's exactly where they're from, when he was in court in 2002 or 2003. i remember he said he couldn't go because it was a really bad bite and the Respondent said he was bluffing so he had to get a doctor to verify or something. anyway, he gave an interview and showed his leg which is when these pix were taken. some pointed out the vitiligo then.

i guess we really don't have media anymore, just talking heads who do absolutely no research whatsoever.

WTH? Spider Bite? What the hell kinda spider gonna leave a bite like that? I mean it lloks like he has ganagrine (sp). Must have been some flesh eating godzilla rainforest spider. doh!

i believe that mj said it was a brown recluse that nabbed him. i'll see if i can find a quote. in the meantime, look at this link:

on edit: found something:

Jackson says a spider sunk its venomous fangs into him one night while he lay asleep at his Neverland ranch in Los Olivos, CA.

“I don’t know exactly how it happened” he admits.

“I never saw the spider. I woke up one morning about a month ago and had a big spoot on my leg. Pus was oozing out and it hurt terribly. I then had some cultures taken and found out that it was a bite from a very poisonous spider that can even be deadly”.

While some experts publicly scoffed at Jackson’s explanation, doctors who examined him confirmed the torturous spider bite.

His personal physician, Dr Alimorad Farshchian, says it was likely a brown recluse spider, which injects a devastating toxin creating nasty lesions that can take weeks to heal.

“The wound was 6 or 7 centimeters in diameter”, Dr. Farshchian confirms to GLOBE. “IT was purple with three or four blisters in the middle. Shortly after that, we started treating it and it dried up and became a big scab. It is now in the state of healing. The old skin is now falling off and the new skin is starting to develop”.

Oh my lord. faint I live in Cali and we do have plenty brown recluse spiders but they supposedly like dark damp places so I've always been told the likelihood of getting bit was slim. I knew they left nasty bites but nothing like that...man disbelief Poor Mikey. I bet the pain from that and his scalp burn and his insomnia are all reasons for his drug addiction. He was just trying to find some comfort/relief.

"On the photographs of Michael Jackson, it looks like there was necrosis on his lower leg where there might have been fluid that went into his lower leg," a possible result of an IV that had leaked into the leg, Dr. Debra Jaliman, a leading dermatologist and spokeswoman for the American Academy of Dermatology, told ABC News.

"It looks like there are multiple puncture points from IV placement," she said.

The wound seen in the photos, which were taken in 2002, could have been a result of contact with highly caustic, acidic fluid that would burn the skin and cause it to turn black, Jaliman said.

"If, in fact, he had an IV here, and the IV fluid, which may have been acidic fluid, went into his skin, it might may have, in fact, destroyed the skin," she said. "That's all dead skin that would then make an ulceration underneath that skin."

In the photos, Jaliman highlighted areas of blue discoloration in Jackson's leg and puncture marks, which she said point to needle entry.

"If you look at his lower leg you can see puncture points here, so it looks like there was a needle entry here, possibly a needle entry here on his leg," she told ABC News.

Jaliman called the practice of placing an IV in a leg "very unusual."

"In 22 years of training, I've never seen an IV placed in the legs. You would put, you know, IVs in hands, arms, but oftentimes in my training when I have dealt with people who didn't have veins anymore in their hands or arms, you look for veins that you can use and sometimes you have to look in other areas of the body," Jaliman said.

Reports of prescription drug abuse had dogged Jackson for much of his career.

Marc Schaffel, a long-time adviser to Jackson, said the star was dangerously addicted to the painkiller Demerol, as well as to a cocktail of other opioid drugs, such as Oxycontin.

"It's Michael who wanted the drugs -- Michael who was doing it. Nobody could stop Michael except Michael himself," Schaffel said. "If, in fact, the family was able to spend time with him over the last couple years, they would know he was on drugs."

When I was little, and had to have to tonsils out, something went wrong, and I had to go back, because I started throwing up blood, but when I got there, they did not put a IV in my arm,it was placed at the top of my foot, and as a result I have a vein that pops up there now. So it's isn't that "unusual".

That's sweet. Saying Michael "Was" anything is so hard for me to grasp though. I cannot get used to talking about him in the past tense. It just doesn't seem real. Everyday I see the news and they talk about his death, I act suprised as if it's the first time i'm hearing it. I just keep saying to myself "Michael Jackson is dead...WTF?!". I sometimes forget he's dead when I listen to his music or watch his video's on youtube. I think I'm still in a bit denial as I can't bring myself to even talk about him in the past tense really. I still can't believe it.

Me either. I keep thinking maybe it's a mistake but I know it isn't. The timing is all wrong. He was supposed to die an old man, retired, a father, writing his memoirs. He just had too much shit to deal with. Poor guy. sad cry

Neverland Or Never-Ever-Land?
July 16, 2009

Rumors are running as hot and hard in the valley as its air conditioners over the plans for Neverland Ranch in the wake of Michael Jackson’s death. Grieving fans want a place to pay homage to Jackson, and they seem to think Neverland is the best place to do so.

So far, the company that bought the 2,500-acre estate last year hasn’t officially announced what it intends to do with the property. But the unmarked vans and rental trucks traveling in and out of Neverland’s gates continue to fuel speculation.

What is known is that the Jackson family did ask Colony Capital LLC, the current owner of Neverland, to investigate the possibility of burying Jackson on the property.

Colony released a statement July 10 that said, in part: “It would be a long, complex process, which could not be culminated within the tight time periods required. Colony has not been a party to current family discussion with regard to Michael’s final burial spot.”

The company also acknowledge in the statement that regardless of what ultimately happens to the property, fans will still visit Neverland. “People from all over the world will continue to come, if only to see a closed gate,” the statement said.

“This is a reality. The manner in which we, as a community of diverse interests, handle the situation will take time, thought and elegant minds.”

The Valley Journal wants to know what you think. Should county officials ultimately allow Neverland Ranch to become the Graceland of the West, if the request is made of them? Tell us why you think the way you do.

And even if you believe Neverland Ranch is not the place for a Jackson museum, do you think it will happen anyway?

This should be an album cover for his next release of music, or at least for the songs he was anticipating on making for a new album.

Also

This would make a good inlay
