Is Lady Gaga the new Prince?

It's easy to compare Lady Ga Ga to the young Prince.

Let's look at the similarities.

She's weird looking. When P first hit the stage, he was weird looking. Prince came across as almost a hermaphrodite. Same with this chick. She bends gender much like did. Both created their own fashion statements.

She was a musical child prodigy who grew from a religious background.She's a talented singer-songwriter who has written songs for many artists. She learned piano by ear at the age of four.

Her act is based on sexuality. Prince was hyper sexual when he broke. Both metaphorically hint at overt sex through lyrics. Poker Face turns into Fuck Her Face in the chorus. A modern-day Let's Pretend We're Married.

Both made bread with fabulous beats. I don't pretend to be a fan of hers yet, but there are some absolute Erotic City type tracks being laid down by her lately. She infuses electronica with pop in a similar, almost futuristic way. Just like our man did in the day.

I see striking similarities. She has many haters, but there's a kinship with one who came before that bears mentioning. I'm interested to see her progression in the pop game.

I think she's boring. She tries so hard to be different, that she's just like everyone else. Taking off ur clothes has been done before. Now what would be different and interesting is to keep ur clothes ON.

at first i thought so but then again i think she tries too hard to be 'unique' or 'different' from the rest of the female singers in today's music industry. She's ok but nothin like prince

No, Prince actually has talent!!!

I saw her perform on Leno a few months ago, and she was awful. I have no idea why there's so much hype surrounding her. She is just not my cup of tea at all!!!

Being a sexual artist is lame and boring. It's been done already. Try doing something new. I find artist's like Janelle Monae much more shocking and ground breaking then Lady Gaga. Janelle is going aganist the stream of people who are singing about birthday sex and dressing in sexy outfits.


The fact that you can compare her career choices so much to Prince's just goes to show you, what she's doing isn't new. it's been done. and frankly you can't take it to the next level, the only way you can go further is have your little red corvette hanging out, and that's been done alreay as well too.
