How does the org compare to other music forums?

Most other forums I've visited have suffered from poor formatting. The org is the most well constructed forum I've visited, but is poor in other ways. I found a good Joni Mitchell forum last year, which had a great layout and well-informed users, but unfortunately it got shut down. Are there any other forums that are particularly good?

Chaka Khan's board is tight if you want to get more into obscure RnB/soul divas,,,but its SLOW as all hell, and the people are abit close minded.

I'd say you're in the right place.

This one is most versatile. I get my hip hop fix from okayplayer but sometimes they don't act right.

I get a kick out of the idea of maybe someone like Dj Pari reading over "Katy Perry vs. Lady GaGa" on the org lol

I think Prince fans in general are an eclectic bunch, and that's what i like about this forum, you guys are all over the place when it comes to music.
All lot of forums are stuck in the mud with one vibe going.

I visit a couple of music forums

Okayplayer is great for hip hop and sometimes R&B and dance music (That's how I learned about Leroy Burgess, Leon Sylvers, Kashif, and other great R&B producers of the late 70s and early 80s)

MJJC's music forum is okay. It's a blend of different genres and cultures so it's interesting to read

For me, I put the org in 2nd place with OKP in first

Right now in terms of forums that have music, this has to be the best. I couldn't get really used to OKP, maybe that's because I didn't know how they run though I know bboy and mistermaxxx are popular members tho. The KOPD usually focus more on pop shit. lol MJJC is a mixed bag, as is Max Jax. Siyclone was all about rumors, gossip, fights and worrymongers so I left there. Soulful Detroit is cool unless it panics about something, lol, or gets into flame wars with Supremes fans. Right now, the org is one of the top music forums I visit with the MJJC being second in music posts.

I belong to many music forums and I really must say the Org has the most diverse, eclectic, contributors around! Yeah, we have our fair share of loony tunes but in spite of them, the Org is still a great place to hang out, if you really care about music as a whole!

It's fine, just the orgers who get overly biased and hateful towards today's music drive me up the wall.

The Org is great. One thing that makes it so easy to keep coming back is how generally respectful everybody is. Sometimes it can get heated, but nothing like the ongoing idiocy and nastiness that I see in some other forums.

I think the org also has a very diverse age group, teens to middle agers.
That also helps keep it real.
