Van Hunt's album - Use in the case of emergency

Okay now that this album is sunk in a little bit, i can really say i love it. This cat is something else man. He really really has got IT. This album is "in between" album of songs from his vault. Something to hold the fan's over until his next album (which is expected around september 09') Van stated that most of the songs are from the late 90's era. The album is only on vanhunt.com where Van will also be releasing his next studio album, as he has gone fully independent.

p.s. this guy really has the best song/album titles. lol

Definitely feeling this joint!
My favorites are "Sexy (im not known for dancing)", "Man Of the Year", and "Come Tomorrow". The only song I can do without is "Saturday Laughs". While I like the beat, the way he sings it is annoying! Great stuff tho cool

Right now, Van Hunt is a much more interesting songwriter than Prince. In fact, if I had to choose a CD to take on a lonely, deserted island between the two of them, there would be no hesitation in choosing Popular over Parade....Wait a minute...okay, any other Prince album other than Parade, I'll take Popular. I lost my mind for a second there.

Anyways, this new stuff is aight - there are some clunkers in there but I expect to hear great things on the new, proper full length.

Popular is one of my all-time fav. albums. Just such a fresh sound of music, with poet like lyrics. Just an amazing album. It's a real shame that it may never get a proper release. Van has said that EMI owns the masters and he'd try to get them back but they won't sell them to him at a price he can afford. :-/

But i'm def. looking forward to the new album, he gave some wild description of the sound he's going after for the album. I can remember what he said now, but i'll post it when i remember.

Here's a interview he did with an LA radio station he talks about popular, use in case of emergency and the new upcoming album. They also played an yet un-released or leaked song called "Muted Symphony"

Van Hunt is truly an amazing artist. I'm definitely a fan for life and everyone I play him for feels the same about his talent. My favorite track is "The Lowest 1 of My Desires". That is some hot, funky, freaky shit right there!!!

Just PAID for my copy...the brother oozes talent. The music industry truly sux for not giving this man his just due. Nothing owed to the brother, I'm not saying that, but true musicians should get a proper stage/forum.
