SWEET SENSATION Officially Called It Quits

Sad news for Freestyle Fans...

The Legendary Freestyle Group SWEET SENSATION Officially called it quits yesterday. I did a VLOG with SHEILA (Member of the group) and she stated everything. Check out the VLOG now at www.80sInYourFace.com

They were best known for their hits "Hooked On You", "Sincerely Yours", "Love Chile" and their #1 hit "If Wishes Came True".

LOL. Are you kidding me with this post? I don't think there's a single person here who even thought about this group after 1990.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Hey, did you hear NSYNC broke up too? lol

90% of groups that people think have split are still together playing gigs, everyone preaches that they hate the mainstream, but alot of times their knowledge doesnt stretch past whats out there in plain sight.

Even broken up they will get an album out quicker than MJ

But did Sweet Sensation keep the same line-up before they broke up? Keep in mind that The Cover Girls still exist as a group, but none of the original members are in the current line-up at all.

sad ok 1dirxtion aren't you kinda going overboard. Maybe it's just me but does this really deserve a thread? I don't need to know when you've tracked down the T and A from TKA working at the local gas station. If anyone was that interested they would go to your 80's site. We don't need all these threads: "I talked to George Lamond while doing laundry!".

I don't see anywhere in the forum-rules why this group should not deserve a thread. So now his postings have to get a sticky too ?
These ladies continued to work for their living and are judged for that just because not everyone might have noticed them in recent years.
Is everything that is visible and hot in the media all that matters ? Lesser promoted artists have to make a living too, either because of their love for entertaining and also to pay their bills.
There is a lot of complaining on this site about how the majority of today's music is crap, and many 70s/80's acts are often praised over here.
1DirXton is doing nothing rude and just trying to create something positive by keeping people who are interested informed about nostalgia acts.
We live in a digital era where much entertainment-info is just a few clicks away from someone's pc-screen and still there seems to be unawareness about how some classic artists have been continuing to work.
Are we gonna have a list now which artists are required to get access on this forumsection about all kinda artists ?
If i see a thread about an artist/group which don't interest me, i simply won't click/post on it. Easy come easy go. Peace.

Same original lead singer. With the Cover Girls, management changed alot of that, on the first record they had Angel,Caroline and Sunshine, Sunshine got fired during the "spring love" video because she thought she was the shit. On the second album they had Angel,Caroline and Margo, this was their best lineup though Evelyn who took over for Angel when she left, is a good friend for almost 20 years now, that Angel,Caroline and Margo trio was the shit! By the third album the label wanted to ditch freestyle and go RB so they got rid of Margo and brought in Michelle Valentine, who even took away the lead vocals of Evelyn for a short time on many tracks, but the Cover Girls as RB did NOT work, and Michelle got the boot and then Caroline retired and got married.

Many 80s artists are still doing their thing but are not in the spotlight like todays artists. I happen to be connetced with many of the 80s artists and I just come to share the news with you as I know many of you are also 80s music fans like myself

Hell no! Stevie B. is one of the best male vocalists AND musicians in latin freestyle history. Akon isn't worthy of being put in the same studio OR paragraph as Stevie B.

And meanwhile, Angel still tours as an solo act and as a member of freestyle supergroup S.A.L. with Lil'Suzy & Lisette Melendez.

Well, Roxanne Dawn of "Short Dick Man" (a.k.a. "Short Short Man") fame is currently a DJ and Playboy model.

That's my early 90's freestyle contribution.

Exotic. Wonder if she has mixed genes. Seems a combination of asian/caucasian or some south-american ingredients.

rolleyes

Excuse you, but Stevie B. did have uptempo dance tracks:

In My Eyes
I Wanna Be The One
Spring Love

Dreamin' Of Love (SIDENOTE: THIS alone was Stevie's biggest career dance/freestyle hit!)
Love & Emotion
Party Your Body

Next time, study your music history before you step to anyone in the org about something that you do not know anything about. wink

ONE MORE THING: Akon's boring ass has never wrote OR composed an uptempo track in his career. So however the hell you think that he could ever measure up to Stevie B. is beyond me. But, whatever!

I SHIT MUSIC HISTORY, MY MAN!!!!! I KNOW FULL N WELL OF STEVIE B.'S PLACE IN "FREESTYLE HISTORY"!!! MY SON'S MOM USED TO PLAY IT TO DEATH BACK IN 87-88.
I DIDN'T LIKE IT THEN, AND I DON'T CARE FOR IT TOO MUCH AS I GET OLDER. HE SOUNDS LIKE A DIZZY DRUNK ASS SHEEP!!!! THERE'S BETTER FREESTYLE OUT THERE.
AND IN THIS DAY & AGE, AKON'S ACHIEVEMENTS COMPARED TO STEVIE B.'S ARE QUADRUPLE!!!!! DOESN'T MEAN I LIKE EITHER ONE OF THEM- IN FACT THE ONLY SONG I LIKE BY AKON IS THE FIRST ONE HE CAME OUT WITH "LOCKED UP". OTHER THAN THAT FUCK HIM TOO!!!!!
I STILL THINK THEIR VOICES SOUND SIMILAR, AND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. STUDY MUSIC HISTORY.....I WIPE MY ASS W/ A LOT OF MUSIC HISTORY!!!!! I'VE BEEN STUDYING MUSIC HISTORY SINCE I WAS 3 YEARS OLD, AND I'LL B 41 JULY 12TH!!!! AND I AIN'T TOO OLD TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW!!!! PEACE!!!!!
