Update, slight hiccup during the initial surgery, doctor didn't make the correct length adjustments. He will be going back into surgery tomorrow to correct the mistake and hopefully this will be the last of the surgery!

Re: the oops...

i am sorry to hear it. Its not fun to have issues like that. I am disabled... I need to have my hip done... Despite having had TONS of things done, the hip thing is kinda scary... (recovery-wise).

I will really be pulling for Morris. He's more brave than I.

He told me he was up and walking on it today, so as far as his will to get better and ability endure the pain is concerned, i have no worries. My only concern is that the procedure get done properly and so far that hasn't proved to be true, but i'm trying to remain optimistic and I trust that everything should be okay soon enough!

Damn...I hope they corrected it and don't have to go in again.

Do you know what type of table he had the surgery on? The reason I'm asking is where I work we make a surgery table (HANA) that uses a relatively new Hip replacement procedure that does not have to go through the muscle so recovery time and pain are greatly reduced.

I know that a minimally invasive surgery technique is used by this particular doctor, resulting in 3-4 inch long incision in comparison to the standard 8-10 inch incision historically used for hip replacement. As for what kind of table I couldn't tell you, but the recovery time is supposedly 4.2 weeks in comparison to the 12 weeks from the standard hip replacement techniques. So I hope that after tomorrow he should be in the clear and just get through the rehabilitation process and he should be back on stage in no time... That is the goal at least!

Sounds like the table we make.

Either way I hope for a full and quick recovery so he can get back up on stage!

So the second surgery should start in about 30 minutes, and shouldn't take much longer than 30 minutes to complete, they just have to remove a spacer or something... Let's hope this is the last of the surgery! I'll post another update asap.
