Chris Brown "remorseful" about Rihanna situation, says singer's father

"He's reflecting on this situation," Clinton Brown told People. "He's very remorseful. He's very concerned about the situation and he wants to make sure that [Rihanna's] okay." Clinton Brown, who lives in Toppahannock, Virginia, also told the magazine his son is "home" but would specify the location. Clinton Brown divorced from the Forever singer's mother when Brown, 19, was a young child. She remarried Donnelle Hawkins, who the singer has said was an allegedly abusive stepfather. Hawkins, who has also spoken out, told Us Weekly he "wouldn't be surprised" if Brown assaulted Rihanna. "[Brown] has to take responsibility for his own actions," said Hawkins. Rihanna's Father Speaks to People Magazine Feb 14, 2009 Link In an interview with People magazine, Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, said that when he first heard that his daughter had been attacked by Chris Brown, "I didn't believe it. "I know my daughter," said Fenty, 55. As for Brown, he said, "You think you know somebody, but you really don't." Brown, 19, allegedly attacked Rihanna, 20, in Los Angeles last Sunday. He was arrested and may face charges from the district attorney. Describing Rihanna's current condition after seeing her in Barbados on Friday, Fenty said, "There is some bruising. She will be alright. I think so." He adds, "At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world." Fenty, a salesman and freelance clothing designer, said Rihanna is spending time with her girlfriends in Barbados while she heals. Chris Brown says he's 'sorry and saddened'

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Chris Brown, who was arrested a week ago in connection with a domestic violence investigation, says he is "sorry and saddened" over what happened. In a brief statement released through publicist Michael Sitrick on Sunday, Brown says he is seeking counseling from loved ones and family members. He also says much of what has been reported of the Feb. 8 incident is wrong, although he doesn't elaborate. Brown was booked by Los Angeles police on Feb. 8 for allegedly making a criminal threat. He has not been charged by the district attorney and is free on $50,000 bail while the case is under investigation.

Martial Arts Expert Challenges Chris Brown to a Fight
Wednesday, February 18, 2009 Chris Brown may need a ring doctor instead of a spin doctor. Anthony Geisler, president of LA Boxing, has created a Facebook group called “I Want to Fight Chris Brown,” to challenge the R&B singer to a fight in the ring to see “what it's like to face a real opponent.” Earlier this month, Brown, 19, was arrested for making criminal threats after a woman accused him of assaulting her. The woman, who was later identified as Brown’s pop-star girlfriend Rihanna, 20, reportedly had several facial contusions and bite marks. Last Sunday, Brown apologized for his actions, vowing to get therapy to work on his issues. But there are at least 45 people who would prefer Brown step into the ring with Geisler, whose kickboxing and mixed martial arts training organization is the largest in the world. All have signed up to be members of the group, which encourages people to join if they would like to be next in line to fight Brown. Could Brown be in for what some might say are his just desserts? We will have to wait and see. But Brown does have a few big names in his corner. Last week, actor Terrence Howard told Hollywood.tv that the alleged attack was “just life man. Chris is a great guy. He’ll be all right. Rihanna knows he loves her. They’ll be alright. Everyone has just got to get out of their way.”

But at least Chris has former-reality-star-turned-Playboy-cover-girl Aubrey O’Day on his side. She told FOXNews.com that we should just give Chris his space and let him and Rihanna figure the situation out. “You never really know what happens between two people, and until you do, you shouldn’t judge,” she said at the William Rast show at New York Fashion Week. “I think it was wise for Chris to come forward and apologize, but we should just give them their space and let them figure it out.” Maybe so, but holding back judgment won’t save him from a potential beat down in the ring. The pic looks very real to me. Her face looks awful. There's just no excuse for beating up on her like that. Chris is wrong for what he did. I feel kinda bad for looking at that pic tho, I know if I was Rihanna, I wouldn't want a pic of that being leaked for all in the public to see.
