It's crazy, ain't it? The story is just too tragic... I'm still wilding out that they waited TWO FUCKING HOURS to call police! That's what I don't get! mad

Yeah I had no idea about the Ike situation with the paper man. I get mad every time I read about what happened the night Sam Cooke died, I gotta post that tonight because even to this day, his death doesn't make complete sense to me. disbelief

Exactly. I actually think it's possible that the other woman may have played a role. They said Al was in his room when the shooting occurred. They didn't say whether or not Carlotta was in there with him or not.

after a session (along with Mary Woodson)

She & Mary spent that night @ his mansion

Carlotta is mentioned in the article
to have assisted Al with his burns...

I saw that she helped him in his bathroom, I don't know about the bedroom unless it said she was there with him in the article. hmmm

I've got to re-read this
article myself

it was one of those articles
that you never forget reading
it struck my interest to hear
another side of the story...
other than "oh, Al Green got a
pot of hot grits on thrown on him"

but I need to re-read it

Gimme a break.

The article made it clear that Al and Carlotta's hands were tested for gun residue and none was found.

It also stated there was a suicide note in her purse, which jibed with his story about declining her marriage proposal. His secretary? received a suicide note from her 2 days later.

Furthermore, the woman was a hot mess who'd attempted suicide a couple of times before.

Finally, the article suggested that they may have been too preoccupied with his injuries to bother checking on Mary or they may have decided to run for cover instead of running towards the sounds of the shots (as most people do).

Like, did you guys read the article at all?

What's the black person's love of conspiracies all about?

Sam Cooke was killed b/c he burst in that woman's room, naked, inebriated and angry. After a scuffle, she pulled out her gun and killed him. End of story.
