And what is there to say about Lil' Kim, except this:

She got played by Biggie BIG TIME!!! Seems all his "women" did. In her book, I believe Faith said she doesn't think he was ever faithful to her at any time in their "relationship", but for some reason she doesn't understand, he chose to marry her. It's a good thing too because she did right by him, his mother, and daughter after he died. We all know there are lots of bitter wives who make the hubby's children and babymamas fight for every dime they get. (Think Eazy E and ODB's wives. Didn't ODB even refuse to submit his DNA for paternity tests? She said 'Forget all 150 of y'all! This MY money!)

Back to Kim..

I think she was mistreated by him, and the movie showed that. I never heard or read a thing about them having a loving relationship. The best I heard was that he took off her the block and put her into a recording studio--which is A LOT and for which she should be eternally grateful. But to make herself out to be the love of his life? Oh please.

I thought he had some nerve though, telling his daughter not to allow a man to call her a bitch after the way he'd just talked to Kim. I'm sure he thought such lessons made him Father of the Year (kinda like selling drugs to feed her lol ). His mother has always seemed so decent. Too bad her son ran amuck. You'd think he would've been more respectful of women, being reared by such a respectable woman he loved so much.

No shit you'd want that from your woman... as you should! This is a different time. I'm sure if you were living in the 50's or 60's when Misha's grandparents were together, you would want your woman to do as she is told.

WTF? timeout When and how did this turn into a discussion about my grandparents? I mentioned them once, like, 7 pages ago...and that was only to counter what someone else said.

I think you're the one I sent the orgnote to, stating that you are WAAAAYYYYY off base about MY grandparents. My grandmother worked and actually had more money than my grandfather. And the only time she shut her mouth was when she died. So thanks for assuming, but again, you know what they say about those who assume.....

Why hasn't this thread been locked? hmmm

Smooches;)

What in tha...???

What kinda picture....???

Why should this thread be locked? If people don't like the way it's going, they don't have to return. Why should some not be allowed to engage in discourse that branched off from the original topic because someone doesn't like it? The only problem I see with this thread is that someone threw a tantrum because he was feeling ignored and/or needs to feel in control of something (in this case, how the thread is going) and started to fill up the thread with nonsense. BUT, the mature people simply scrolled on past it and continued their conversations.

But that picture is like...Whoaaaaa!

Christopher wasn't faithful to none of the women he was with. The saddest thing is Kim is still dick-whipped off BIG to this very day. That's mainly why she suddenly came out and voiced her disapproval of the film.

I'm not so sure. All the women in my family worked in the 30's, 40's, and so on. It really wasn't an option for them to stay home then. They also ran the house and it was never an issue with the men in my family as far as I know

In general, black women have never had the option NOT to work.

Okay!!! We don't know nothin' about wives staying at home

I saw it two days ago. I thought the movie was well scripted and acted. I'm a huge Angela Bassett fan but for the first time I can honestly say she was outshined by another actor for the first time, the guy that played Biggie. His performance just wow. I'd recommend this movie to anyone that likes a good movie and loves good music.

I agree Gravy did an impressive job, and Angela was outshined for the first time in her professional life. "Biggie" and "Puff" just took over the screen.

Yes! nod And LMAO at Derek Luke's portrayal right down to the dancing. DAMN lol

nod I always liked Charli better than Kim anyway. As a "character" she always seemed cooler/classier with a street edge, whereas Kim was just straight ghetto at all times when in the public. I hope she comes out with something soon.

when i first heard they were doing this movie, i was like disbelief "this shit is gonna be awful!" lol it actually wasn't half bad. the kid that played biggie was actually quite good, as was angela bassett (with her half-ass accent lol), the dude that played d-roc and lil' kim. the girl that played faith was a cutie sexy. i liked her too. i like anthony mackie, but not only did he not look shit like tupac, but he didn't get his "swagger" down at all, very disappointing. same with the kid that played cease disbelief. the dude that played diddy didn't really resemble him either, but i liked his performance some. as someone else said, i saw his behind the music and all the stuff about him and this film didn't tell me anything i didn't already know, but it was a decent potrayal nonetheless. i liked it smile.

I agree with you. Biggie's son, really did a great job, playing a young Biggie. Mackie, was a terrible Tupac and so was that guy playing Lil' Cease.
