Pansy Division

Any fans on the org? I've got a cool story about the band if anyone knows who they are.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

wave I bought a CD years ago that compiled all their singles. They were one of a bunch of Punk bands that were "out" as artists that used Punk as their outlet to express their views. Tribe 8 ,an all Lesbian Punk band, was another. I know they covered Prince's Jack U Off as one of their singles and had no problem flaunting pictures of large penises on the artwork of some their 7" picture sleeves lol .

I know who they are. They're a gay and proud punk band on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label.

Nine Inch Males is their coolest. I love the cover which absolutely rips the piss out of a Trent Reznor photo from Pretty Hate Machine....bwahahahahaha!!

Now lets hear the story.

Well, when I was in college I had a show on Friday afternoons. I had Pansy Division in rotation already, but decided to play some cuts every hour cause they were playing in town that night.

In the second hour of the show, there is a knock on the studio door. Pansy Division is at the door and wants to thank me for promoting their show!

We did 2 hours on the air playing music they liked and pimping their show. Just a cool bunch of guys and really appreciative of the promotion.

At the show that night, I learned the dangers of being a straight guy with an all gay band and not clearly having defined that before the show! It was all good though and we had a great time.

A couple years later, I saw the band again and they still remembered me. I wish they were still touring, cause their shows are awesome fun.

Love them!! Of all the 90s pop-punk bands, I really liked them. It was really honest, straightforward music with catchy tunes and it was so funny! "He Whipped My Ass In Tennis So I Fucked His Ass In Bed" must be my fave song title followed closely by "Bill And Ted's Homosexual Adventure". "It's no bogus journey... it's a BONER journey!"

You don;t have to be gay to appreciate them either, though it helps if you're not easily shocked. Some of the lyrics like "Danny" are just incredibly poignant.

I met them a few times, even played on the same bill once. They were great guys. I still see Chris Freeman around in Silver Lake every once in a while. My wife even asked if they'd consider playing our wedding but that didn't quite work out. "We wouldn't want to offend anyone," said Jon G.

A Pansy Division wedding would be AWESOME.

I was thinking of them because "Alpine Skiing" came up on my iPod yesterday!
