Can Mary J Blige Sing?

I'm not questioning her Soul or emotion on her songs. But, let's be honest..her voice is not that thorough, especially Live. I always hear people comparing Keisha Cole to Mary. I honestly don't think Mary could vocally handle a song like "Love". Keisha, while not being a polished singer, may very well be a better singer than Mary. I'm not a big fan of neither Artist. I'm just making an observation.

Does anybody feel that Mary J. has a great signing voice?

I personally like both singers. I think that Mary is great at being able to convey emotions through her voice. Her career speaks for itself. She is a good singer, with the ability to hit some high notes, but I wouldn't classify her as a "great" singer. She is good, though. If she wasn't, her career would have died a long time ago.

Mary aint the greatest singer but I want to say this..... she has something to say. She always has and that is why I love her.

Interestingly enough, I was listening to NPR one time and they were doing one of their musical segments and it began with a woman singing an old soul song and I got excited because I couldn't wait to find out who this new voice was. It was Mary. When she isn't into her theatrics and she is just calm and centered, she has a wonderful voice.

I love that she's been through the shit and dusted herself off so that she can shine. That'w what Mary is all about and why I'm proud to call her one of my favorite artists nod

I agree. I have always loved her messages in her music. But, sometimes I cringe when I see her perform.

She's not the greatest singer, but she sangs from the heart.
