This is the original version, from 1966. I like it a lot! It's in a different key as Stevie's version from Hotter Than July. and it has that real 60s Motown vibe.

This is one of those songs that Stevie has yet to finish or be satisfied with. He recently said that he still has another version of it, in the vaults that he might consider releasing. I really like the one on "Hotter than July". As a DJ, I open most of my sets with this gem.

Damn, Stevie still considers the song to be a "work-in-progress"?

Yes, he does. I have a "bootleg' version of it. It is about ten minutes in length and it is off the chain. To me, it is one of the best things that he as EVER did.

Yep, you're right. I like all versions of that song, lol. he did it live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands when I saw him in concert too on September 14th. He does it a lot in concert right now. Most of his shows feature it!

What a gem, I'm glad to know it exists. Tammi's version is really haunting...

What amazes me is how much it has evolved from Tammi's version, to his. It just goes to show how much of a musician Stevie is.

I like her version, but it just seems so errie to me or a little sad. Maybe because she died so young, yet she was such a talented singer.
