Waxpoetics ROCK issue

It's real late in the month, but WAXPOETICS # 30 has its ROCK issue out
now. On the cover is HR of Bad Brains with Elvis onthe flip (!?!). The
featued articles are the cover interview/article, a detailed interview
with VCL Veasey of the band Black Merda, a Black Rock Coalition
retrospective, article/interview with Ernie Isley, article on Elvis'
gritty Memphis recordings plus obits on Jimmy McGriff, Bo Diddley and
Buddy Miles.

This is a great mag. Every issue is crammed ful of features on jazz
funk rock and hip-hop. The current issue will disappear soon. Pricey at $9.99. It's like an academic journal printed on stiff cardboard-like papaer. Check it out if you haven't heard.

There's also an obit to Ike Turner and a retrospecitve on Prince and The Rebels (a '79 side project with Dez Dickerson).
