S.M.V. - Thunder

Stanley Clarke - Marcus Miller - Victor Wooten

This is not the out of control bass pyrotechnic slug-fest you might imagine.
The tunes are extremely well written/arranged and highly musical along with some thumpin'/bumpin' jams.
A lot of credit should go to the engineers & mixers that were able to achieve a very high-end sounding album and keeping it from being the mudbath it could've been.

A couple of tunes feature guest appearances by Chick Corea & George Duke.

Tracklist:
1. Maestros De Las Frecuencias Bajas - (featuring Ronald Bruner Jr./Ruslan Sirota/Patches Stewart)
2. Thunder - (featuring Butterscotch)
3. Hillbillies On a Quiet Afternoon - (featuring George Duke)
4. Mongoose Walk - (featuring Chick Corea/Derico Watson)
5. Los Tres Hermanos
6. Medley: Lopsy Lu/Silly Putty - (featuring George Duke)
7. Milano - (featuring Kevin Richard/Stanley Clarke)
8. Classical Thump (Jam)
9. Tutu - (featuring J.D. Blair/Karlton Taylor)
10. Lil' Victa - (featuring Ronald Bruner Jr.)
11. Pendulum
12. "Lemme Your Bass"
13. Grits

Saw this on HQ too - has more pix of the guys. Prince's old photographer Parke shot the album pictures.
I picked it up on iTunes and totally dig it. It's def a Marcus production, but at the same time it gives the cd a "feel".

I should've known tA would beat me to posting on this project. I got it Tuesday and having been spinning it ever since. The songs are very well written. Los Tres Hermanos is gorgeous. And, I love the "roles" the three seem to occupy throughout. Great disc! woot!
