and you better not be calling me dumb, because You really are. lol

I don't care about janet's record sales. Im not making a dime off that. and my life still goes on. lol Janet is just not popular anymore.

and just because you like the PCD doesn't mean you are not stuck in the 80s lol lol You like them and cassie because of how they look.
You like young women, and that has nothing to do with the 80s. lol If Janet made the same crap cassie and PCD you wouldn't even buy that or be listening to it rolleyes

You pick and choose what you like. If there is something in the 2000's that benefits you then you like it, or if its something you don't like you compare it to the 80s, and put it down.

JUST GET OVER THE 80s. STOP comparing the way the 80s were to today. Alot of things are going to change. and its not bad.

Again you have NO CLUE what are you talking about, find a post where i said CASSIE was anything musical??? Saying she is better than Rihanna is not a compliment by any means. And if i say that PCD make a good pop song its because they do, sorry, but if you wanna talk charts then look at their popularity if you wanna make it about that, you cant have it both ways. Also try reading some of my posts about other artists who make albums NOW and make better albums than anyone out there, you clearly are absent on these posts about real RB like Van Hunt, Rahsaan Patterson, or Angie Stone, you clearly or NOWHERE when im talking about john mellencamp, rick springfield, magne f, bruce springsteen, joni mitchell or ann wilson. You arent there because you dont wanna be there, if you are checking a CASSIE post it says more about you and what you wanna read.

And i unlike you always put down the artists i love when they do shit, i put down Mariah when she does a shit record, i put down Janet when she does a shitty record. Bowing down and saying everything they do is great is not being a fan, you will learn that some day. When your musical taste grows where you can accept NEW music of all genres and not because its on the radio but because its real and played by people who respect music than sorry your opinion on days that you never lived in are not valued.
I dont' bow down to any celebrity. Sorry but definitely NOT janet. The only artist i would always support is ONLY michael jackson. And how can you even call the PCDs and Cassie an artist?? Like you talk like this guy who knows so much about great music and all that crap complaining and then you turn around and like premature music even i at my age wouldn't find appealing and im a young woman. So that is very confusing.

you should know out of all people music today is about image and popularity
lol so im not impressed at how popular their music is doing.

if you wanna believe the world is a safer place now then fine. but its really now.

and we still have crack cocain all that bad stuff and more. SINCE YOU GUYS ARE ALL COMPLAINING do something about it. MAKE SOME SONGS. create your own record label and stop supporting artist like the Pussy cat dolls lol and cassie. razz

I was simply addressing that one aspect of your post. Concerts are no more dangerous now than they were 15-20 years ago. Less so, in fact. I don't buy Pussycat Dolls or Cassie. You've read my posts. Your musical tastes tend to echo mine sometimes. I support GOOD new artists.
The fact is that the industry has changed and venues are also part of that. The Mays brothers who made Clear Channel what it is are also doing the same thing with LiveNation. Concert venues are becoming just like the record industry - controlled by a small group of individuals.

No the PCDs and cassie wasn't directed towards you. lol

Well Chris Rock pondered this once too and every woman he asked just said "He ain't singing about ME!"

I don't like the lyrics either but I like the overall sound of it, he can hold a note.

Money and fame make women make exceptions.

Don't forgert where you are, either.

Lil Wayne:
Lil mama had a swag like mine
She even wear her hair
Down her back like mine
I make her feel right
When its wrong like lyin'
Man she ain't never
Had a love like mine
But Man I ain't never
Seen an ass like hers
That pussy in my mouth
Had me loss for words
Told her to back it up
Like berp berp
And I made that ass jump
Like jerp jerp
And thats when she

[Bridge: Static Major + (Lil Wayne)]
She She lick me
Like a lollipop

Prince:
If U're looking for somewhere to go
Thought I'd take u to a movie show
Sittin' in the back and I'll jack u off
I can't give u everything u want
But I can take u to a restaurant
If u're not hungry
I'll jack u off

If your man ain't no good
Come on over to my neighborhood
We can jump in the sack and I'll jack u off

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Those lyrics are opposite, but similar in a few ways...Lil Waynes rap isn't AS derogatory as raps like these usually are (he even said the word "love"! WTF? lol) but I dunno, Prince's song just sounds...nicer. Even tho the subject is the same...

I Kissed A Girl will go down as the song of the Summer of '08 . ;IMO

due to its somewhat controversial nature and it seems like Katy Perry is all over magazine covers and getting all the media attention about now. It is also one of the most downloaded songs of the summer and airplay is very high .

so there you have it ...sales , airplay, big publicity..the triple crown.

the thing is with songs by Lil Wayne, Katy Perry these songs and others arent cross-over hits, and though they have wide appeal, they are in a box, and downloads and things like that =are such a small % of people now, music isnt really relevant anymore. I think its mainly about what was the big summer hit, as opposed to the "summer song", the summer song idea and what its represented, doesnt exist anymore. I think what people dont remember is that the summer song idea is that it can be identified with a time.

You're right. Perhaps "Head" would have been a better comparison, although I was thinking in terms of abrasiveness rather than subject matter. Still, I think the message is delivered.

Most men don't think like these guys do because most men aren't rich and famous. Their experiences differ greatly as they are more used to being pursued by women rather than vice versa.
Their pick up line is "let's go".
