People who give "Props" to Timbaland and Pharrell, this guy is the biggest hitmaking producer today

AB Quintanillia. And it should be added that he has been a "hit" making force for close to 20 years. It started with breaking his sister SELENA and making that band "los dinos" a HIT, and yes they were a hit, a big hit prior to her death. But since that time AB has become a hitmaking machine for everyone from Thalia to Ricky Martin to Enrique to Paulina Rubio to his own Platnum plus "Kumbia Kingz" and "Kumbia All Stars". Once again the Latin music genre is "Overlooked" for having a top producer, I mean i NEVER hear props given to "Emilio Estefan" who SINGLE handed changed the music scene!

Not familiar with his work, honestly. I've had little to no exposure to it. But I'm sure it's great. However, Timbaland and Pharrell are know almost universally for their hits. From the US to Japan... people know them by face and by their productions.

Believe it or not, Hit wise he has done more, lots more than them. In the Latin Market (which is the biggest) he is the most sought after by young and old artists, but unlike Tim and Pharrel he brings a new sound to everyone.

He's from Texas, but, yes, most Americans don't know who he is.

Wow, yes, you're right.

I remember him from a documentary about his sister, and was immediately struck at how focused and disciplined he seemed to be.

If you just see him, he looks like any other joe.

I'm glad he's had the success he's had. From his father to his sister, they earned every little bit they've gotten.

For the record, I don't consider Pharret or Tinkerbell to be producers. They're synth and sample muppets.

I also could give a damn about THALIA, Ricky, Enrique, Paulina, or any of the other wack ass fake latin pop acts this guy is responsible for.

He's as crap as Pharret and Tubby considering he hasn't had a hand in any of the non-pop latin bands that make real, hard LATIN(not crossover bs)music and have leads that can actually sing unlike the people he's worked with.

Well you are way off base as usual. Those were the "commercial" artists he has produced for, and yes he produces, tim and the others make "beats", AB plays more instruments than Prince actually. He has produced for Mana,Calle,Jose Feliciano, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and others, and the term FAKE ASS latin doesnt even apply to the others mentioned since they are "latin" not born here, Fake ass is a term to apply to todays rappers who talk shit about the streets and have never seen them.

As is your suggestion that we all give a shit about Pharret and Tinkerbell.

tim and the others make "beats",

Is there an echo in here? I just said that.

AB plays more instruments than Prince actually.

Your point would be...?
There are lots of people that can do that, but can they write any songs worth hearing?

He has produced for Mana,Calle,Jose Feliciano, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente and others,

Blah...With the exception of Celia and Tito who he probably did very little for other than pushing them into some lame ass watered down record that could crossover to American adult contemporary listeners with an exotic fetish.

and the term FAKE ASS latin doesnt even apply to the others mentioned since they are "latin" not born here,

I don't care where they're born. Livin La Vida Loca is not some damn latin music. falloff Plastic music is plastic music no matter what language it's sung in.

Pharrell is a very skilled piano player and drum player and so is Timbaland. Don't down player their skills. You can hear a lot of their drum work and piano styling in a lot of their songs.

I was remembering the Behind the Music special they did on Selena 10 years ago and wondering why I never heard about her husband/guitarist producing anything. I guess her brother is the reason, it's nice to know they are still active.
