Why you orgers hate on young male artists today

I mean everytime I come on here, you all mostly are tearin down USHer calling him no dancing, can't sing, waste of radio airtime and ugly!! And now you say same of Chris Brown calling him same thing and the anti-Christ. Obama and Oprah are the anti-christ way before Chris Brown!! Justine Timberlake same thing, you all hate on him!!For one thing I think all 3 especially Usher is probably the best male artist going today. He has been consistent since 1990's and for goodness sake the boy is not UGLY!! No where near it and he's a good actor and Chris Brown is probably the next Usher and no where possibly near ugly!! Good singer and dancer but acting needs a little work!! You all need to get off this thing where only Prince and michael jackson are the only good singers and pay respect to the future!! Sure they'll never be another Prince or MJ, but Usher and Chris Brown are the next 2 1-2 punch of being close to these 2!! THIS IS NOT A SLANDER TO NO ONE!!

Its because they have very high EGO's and portray themselves as the "King of R&B" and "Pop" which SLANDERS the names of the people who are still alive with those titles.

Then they BRAG on their interviews talking about how good THEY ARE..but when we get the album, they didnt write SHIT, they didnt PLAY SHIT and didnt produce a got damn thing.

Except for Chris..he is not like that.

I'm going to try and be professional about this. I consider all to be
fairly good dancers but neither are good singers. Usher seems to be getting
worse as a singer and timberlake as much as i despise him he may have the best voice of
the three. That said all of them suck musically. They don't know how to construct a decent song. They have sucker ass producers that don't know anything about music except pushing buttons and turning knobs. Give me an
album by any of these artists where there is guitar licks on some of the songs, or
give me two if not one song by these artists that feature live drums or live
horns. That's your pop quiz for today. lol

this whole generation of entertainers rely more on bravado and OBVIOUSLY LIFTED moves and sounds than they do on originality and actual showmanship.

to be honest, the reason i don't think highly of any of the artists discussed in this thread is that they all bore me to tears. what they're doing has already been done better by the people they're straining to emulate. and while it's fine to be influenced by someone, what's the point of not trying to be original - and, if you're an entertainer, why not be entertaining?

i know kanye west annoys a lot of people, but at least he seems interested about giving something visual and different to his audiences and i can at least appreciate that, even if i'm not a fan. all the rest of these teenybop R&B entertainers are too caught up in maintaining some kind of godawful boring status quo. bring a book. yawn

1. They don't their own personalities
2. 80% of them can't sing
3. They have ego and a feeling of confidence that's completely unwarranted
4. They image driven
5. They suck in general lol

Exactly.

They don't know how to construct a decent song. They have sucker ass producers that don't know anything about music except pushing buttons and turning knobs.

EXACTLY.

EXACTLY!!!! I can take or leave the horns but the drums, and don't forget the bass, are the two things that give songs rhythm and make them ass shakable. I can even deal with particular types of drum machines such as the ones like Prince used back in the day or the house music kind. The ones that thump hard. But these weak ones that barely tap, hell no, get rid of them. Those weak sounding drum machines are the absolute definition of the shit hop sound and I absolutely can't stand to hear them no matter who uses them, including Prince or Rick James. And these young artists don't want to speed the tempo up and that's been going on for 15 damn years. It's damn rediculous to have to search and track down a damn dance record. Every generation has had something for the dance floor except for these slow asses today. And even when folks like Janet Jackson make an uptempo track these days, they still sing it in a "half singing and half rapping mode". Hell, let shit hop die. It's lived it's life. Any trace of shit influence in a song whatsover is one trace too many. Move on to the next thing like previous generations did. They didn't drag the same style out for over 15 years.

Where do I start? eek

1. Don't call them artists. Nothing they do or will ever do can be described as that unless SUCKING is an art.

2. I don't think you can call them male. Males have balls.

3. Young? Hardly. Most of these clowns are 40 year old ex cons masquerading as teens.

4. These bitches aren't popular. No one over the age of 14 likes them and even most 14 year olds want to knock them the eff out. Their careers and popularity are complete GHOSTS created by an industry that's trying to sell people clothes, liquor, tampons, films, and other assorted things. People who don't realize this are probably out buying that shit.

5. Doesn't Usher look like Mayor Ben from Zoobilee Zoo?

6. Doesn't Timberlame look like his name should be Jeb John Bubba?

Actually I do believe Usher and Justin have some acoustic guitar sounds in their music. I'm thinking of the "You Got It Bad" song right now. But that probably doesn't change the fact that they're still wack.

I think the problem is that these artists all sound the same and homogenized. They all have to fit in with the Hip-Hop/R&B bad boy thug image to be marketable these days. They have to have the same voice and style and look and every other part of that package. But back then you could tell one artist from another. You could tell Marvin Gaye from Smokey Robinson or Rick James from The Gap Band or Prince from MJ. That's what made those artists back in the day appealing: the fact that they had their own distinctive style.

If a young artist were to come out today looking like...oh, I don't know..say...Prince and the Revolution, they would probably wouldn't be as successful with their 18th century wardrobe and shit. lol Either that or they'll just be accused of copying what Prince and his (arguably) greatest band already did. Plus, according to these youngsters, that would be "mad gay, son". And no we can't have that today, can we? lol

I'm gonna play a bit of devil's advocate here. Maybe some of these guys want to do something unique and original, and that would be cool. I'd be into checking that out. I'm sure if it were up to some of these artists, they would wanna try and deviate from the bullshit that's plaguing the airwaves. But it's too risky and the record company's not trying to hear that. They don't wanna take chances on something that may or may not sell. The suits want some guaranteed hits, yo. So because these "artists" don't wanna jeopardize their status and careers, they're kinda forced to play along with the industry game and stick with the working formula.

to be fair, i half agree with your statement. i think a lot of these entertainers have SKILL, which is all fine and dandy, but they don't have the TALENT to create anything original with their skills.

it's like having the skill to reproduce any drawing you see perfectly, but not having the first idea how to create your own images. that's great and all, but what is all that skill worth?

i blame american idol for turning art into a competitive sport. it's no longer about what artists are trying to say anymore - it's about how much melisma you can cram in every note and how douchey you can look onstage. boring.

Skill? The thing that probably irritates me the most about these donkeys is that they have very little to NO skill. They aren't a bunch of theater brats(not that they wouldn't still SUCK)who've been getting lessons since they could stand. These are random ass people who were tossed into industry training camps.

They. Can't. Sing. At. All.

Their "dancing" is what happens when you really need to piss or decide to dance along with Barney.

And this has little to do with AI. AI came along after the industry had already turned music into an ad prop. It really has nothing to do with these particular artists, but they're so damn annoying and lame.

well, with JT. he's a passable singer. passable dancer. passable actor. allegedly he plays musical instruments but i'll be damned if it doesn't look like he's miming it on that HBO live special (yes, i saw it, blame my bf lol ). he's well trained but it's like the training came before the desire to create art. he's totally the product of stage parents. he's groomed for what he does whether he wanted it or not, and with the money, women and partying, wy wouldn't he want it? he's the perfect bush-era entertainer. lol

I wholeheartedly agree. I've noticed that recently, male singers nowadays are REALLY gettin' a hard time, I mean no-one has even mentioned Robin Thicke or Ne-Yo - the latter being an extremely talented writer for one so young.

Stop Hatin', I ain't an Usher fan, but he IS a veteran (17+ years I believe) and still going strong so U gotta respect that.. not many guys can sing AND dance with finesse...

There ARE Male singers out there who do it all but for some reason, are overlooked by the industry who just want to 'mould' their artists...

Finally, the price of 'knob-pushing' release-quality equipment has become as disposable in price as the artists that use them... learn an instrument and get over 2 the Org Artists Community....
