A few years ago,I did a thread on this song and nobody replied to it,lol. It's one of those rare, forgotten oldies that only certain people remember. Here in the Bay Area,it's really popular on the Old School R&B radio stations.Aalon appeared at a recent Super Oldies concert out here, but I didn't get to see him.He was the first act and we were late getting to our seats,so we missed him.

You know it's strange that I don't think I ever heard this song while gowing up and I've lived all my life in the Bay Area. I heard it for the first time about 5-7 years ago on the radio. My friend said his dad used to love it and asked me if i remembered it.

It was only a minor hit when it was released in 1978.I think it's one of those oldies that actually became more popular as time went by (at least here on the West Coast).

I remember, for many years,KBLX never played Prince's songs. Now all of a sudden, they play his stuff.I sometimes hear "Raspberry Beret" and "I Would Die 4 U" on their station! These songs don't fit their "smooth R&B and jazz" format at all, lol.

KBLX plays "Diamonds and Pearls", and "Call My Name" at any given chance these days lol

First off, thank you for featuring this song because I was curious about who sang it when I heard a snippet of it during a BOONDOCKS episode - [B]THE STORY OF GANGSTALICIOUS - PT. II, where every rapper is supposedly gay - and I am also a Yay Bay native, I prefer KBLX over 98.1 KISS, the latter seems too commercial and safely pre programmed for my taste. Now that I know, I'll listen to this clip several more times, peace.

One problem I have with KISS 98.1 is,they're playing too much "modern" crap. When the station first started in the late 90s,they were strictly an Old School R&B station, with only a few modern songs thrown into the playlist.Nowadays,it's about 50/50.This means that a really good Old School jam (like Skyy's "Call Me") could be followed by a really crappy modern-day song (like Usher's "Yeah").Don't we have enough stations for the new music?!
