OMG... j'adore "Twisted"
a very underrated gem and possibly my favorite song of Chaka's as a solo artist didn't that album win a Grammy? and "Slow Dancin" is my joint too I really love on the Medley when she breaks into "Con Alma" man... I need to upload that album to the ZUNE real soon because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Damn I haven't heard this album in ages. I remember buying it on vinyl when it came out. I liked " So Not To Worry", "Twisted", "Be Bop Medley" and Tearin' It Up" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later. -Miles Davis-

these 2 are ESSENTIAL in any Chaka collection: both from the year 1982 I was probably months old when that self titled album was released didn't discover them until after the more popular ones (naturally) and at first listen the self titled one might turn you off from overproduction but I love every minute of it today the EOAE album in a way turnt me onto hardcore jazz BTW... my favorite part of the song "Twisted" is after the third bridge when she says "hiiiiiding alooooone crazy I knooooowwwww-oooooh..." I melt everytime because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I couldn't find a bigger one while I was at work three words: "I Mean You" I have a live concert she did covering most of this album too it's from a few years ago... some lil jazz event she was doin at the time the live version of "High Wire" is to die for... she sounds just as she did decades ago because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I find it interesting how much she resented her musical career because it wasn't "jazzy" enough and then really the only thing you can point to she did other than this is classikhan which is just trash Hopefully she appreciates the Rufus years and can see those dudes knew exactly how to showcase her talent. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

you know, not too many folks have a good bit to say about Classikhan... I enjoy every minute of it! "Hazels Hips" and "Goldfinger" I understand a certain point that was made about her not giving the songs their full potential (out of respect for the originators) but I thoroughly enjoyed Classikhan and Funk This was the perfect followup but, note, you're talking to a Chaka STAN here because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

au contraire have you heard this album? she does Billie's "I'll Be Around" and "End Of A Love Affair" (FUCKING BRILLIANT!) as far as FULL jazz projects, though, you're right BUT she did manage to sprinkle most of her 80's work with a jazz cover here or there you can tell she really enjoyed the making of "A Night In Tunisia" and "Be Bop Medley".. you can HEAR IT... how happy she was it was like a burden had been lifted off of her shoulders with her newfound creative freedom... [Edited 5/19/08 16:06pm] because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
