Janet tour info?

Any news on dates? Ticket sales? Rehearsals? What's going on?

Janet will be interviewed and will perform on Ellen on May 19th. She'll likely announce the tour there, if they haven't issued a press release by then.

The Montreal date is booked for September 29th. Tickets go on sale on May 31st (I assume this is the on-sale date for all shows). My friend is a club promoter in Montreal and knows the promoter. The last time he talked to this promoter re: Madonna, she made her announcement 2 days following.

Boston is October 1st.

Uncasville, CT (Mohegan Sun Casino & Resort) is October 10th.

Tina Turner and Madonna are beginning their tours in the fall. They've already announced the dates and are preparing the ticket sales. If Janet is truly touring in the fall,I don't know why she hasn't announced it yet.My guess is she will cancel the tour and come up with yet another lame excuse ("I'm gonna film a new movie instead").I feel really bad for her fans who were waiting for a tour.

You have every right to be pessimistic but I think an appearance on Ellen would be the ideal place to announce the tour....seems like forever since she has been on a show (by forever I mean like 3 months...back when "Discipline" came out). It's not like she is appearing to perform her latest hit single...she doesn't have one! If she comes to Detroit (and I think she will since she likely do more shows rather than gouge people for tickets to only about 12 dates in elite cities).

All For You tour opened on July 7th with tickets onsale three days after the album's release in late April. I'm not sure why anyone is worried.

Who remembers stuff like that? eek I'm only worried for me and that I may not have funds left for her tickets as I'm buying on a first come first serve basis and there are a few other people I want to see this year.

Perezhilton says:

This fall is gonna be all about the DIVAS!

Janet Jackson is going to be joining Madonna and Tina Turner as they criss cross around America and the world in the Autumn.

That's right, Janet is going on tour!!!!!

What makes this especially exciting is that Miz Jackson hasn't hit the road since 2001. For those of you bad with math, that's SEVEN years ago….almost a DECADE!

So, expect this outing to be jam-packed with all the hits.

And, we're gonna have something very very special to announce soon with regards to the tour for all of you, our Perezcious readers.

Yay!!!!! Can't wait!

Oh I wish. I always marvel at fans that remember details especially numerical ones. When I was a young MJ die-hard I used to know a few album release dates but that's about it. smile

I read the Mariah thread - I know how much you know, even if it isn't numerical. When you love an artist, it happens. cool

She also hasn't toured in 7 years. I'm not sure what the point is in going back and forth about this, so let's just stop here. smile

Anyhoo, Perez has confirmed his exclusive. The May 31st date is good since the concert for the troops will be broadcast on June 1st on NBC.

I hope a track or two from DJ (and maybe just one good song from "20 YO") make the playlist, but it seems very doubtful.

well if she does; i'd like to see her focus mainly on her last two releases. 20YO and Discipline.

throw in a control medley
control
nasty
pleasure principle
what have you done...

a RN1814 song or two
miss you much
blackcat

from velvet rope
together again
i get lonely

janet.
that's the way love goes
if

all for you
all for you
dosen't really matter

damita jo
r&b junkie
all nite..

though, put your hands on would be my pick

ok. so that's a lot. maybe half the concert..but it should leave about 12 more songs; 6 from "20yo" and 6 for "Discipline". most concerts seem to have about 20-25 songs. anyway. that is a wish list.

ok...get it sorted janet.

I know everyone has an opinion on this, but I think "20 YO" is mostly forgettable and unless she was touring for it, there is no reason to pull out those songs. DJ had fun tracks that represent some good chances for dancing..."Slo Love", "All Nite", "Just A Little While"...I think her performing anything beyond a song from maybe just one of them seems unlikely.

i really liked 20yo. and she should've done more promo for it. again. it was just my little wish list. though i do see your point completely. i wish Janet Jackson, regardless of popularity and album sales would at least follow through with her projects to the end instead of abandoning them.

Of course she will play songs from those two albums... I mean, it's a chance to break up the show a bit, do some songs she's never done before! I'm sure she will at least play 2 songs each from those albums... maybe she will go the medley route... but she certainly won't ignore those albums!

And about tour info.... it's about time... I need to plan my touring fall! It would be great to catch all 3 on a trip to the US!

it's about time she got her ass on the ball with this. the album is out of the top 100, so hopefully it will do some good. janet pulling a completely different concert out of her ass will do some MAJOR good.

Of course? I think she forgot she made most of those songs! I believe she dismissed DJ pretty quickly after the positive press coming out for "20 YO" made it seem like it could have been a hit. I know Jermaine kept saying it wasn't urban enough! I think in reality, maybe one song a piece but more likley it will be only one song from BOTH! Sadly, it will probably be the biggest hits from each, both of which were lifeless ("I Want You"/DJ and "Call On Me"/20 YO). "All Nite" is a fan favorite, but does she remember or care and/or do her people.

What "Janet" and "Dream Street" were to the eighties, "Damita Jo" and "20 YO" are to 2000s! And the sad thing is, all four albums, even though of not great quality, deserve better. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if by the time she hits the road it is not for "Discipline" but a Virgin "Greatest Hits" and she purely goes for the hits. Sadly, I love her, but that's what she seems to be comfortable with...a sure thing! She might do "Feedback" as a new song.

I'm hoping, though, you are more right than I am and for something great and different. If she comes here, I'll see her!
