Damn, I never heard of the cut "We Want Prince!" What the hell?

I heard it only a few times. It was released as a 12" single in 1985 but it went nowhere. If I remember correctly,it includes lines like...
"we want Prince in his little red corvette....we want Prince with his dirty mind"

lol it was meant to be a tribute to him,but I thought it was a little odd.

Definitely remember 'We Want Prince'. But for some straight Prince-like cuts nobody tops this cat:

Does anybody remember this guy? 'Cold Tears' and 'Driving Me Wild'?? Man, I wish somebody could upload some of this stuff.

Or Jak

I Go Wild

He also had a minor radio hit with a slow jam called '69'.

Sorry didn't mean to jack...

Oh man, I've been talking about Jak on here for years. His WHOLE album is Controversy mixed with the 1999 album. "69" was the jam. Too bad NONE of the shit is his! It's a combo of 2 and 3 P songs put together. His whole album is like that. I remember seeing Jak walk up and down the front of The Palace at a Mazarati gig in 86. I think I was the only cat there who knew who Jak was. I swear to GOD, he had on the same blue outfit he's wearing on that album cover.

Now that's hilarious. I have that album. And the 'Circuitry' album. One day, I'm gonna upload some of this stuff and do a big Prince biters thread. Some of that shit was decent though. I dug the hell out of '69' and 'You, Only You'.

Exotic Storm was another group that tried to ride the Prince gravy train.

There's dozens of them. nod

Yeah, there was a thread over in Ass Artists forum about all the P jackers. I definately remember Exotic Storm. I still have that album. They were whack....With that Dez look alike cat. I mentioned on that thread my encounter with Larkin Arnold, the dude responsible for signing all of this mess on Epic Records. He heard a track of mine from when I was 17 or some shit. Had the nerve to tell me it was "too rock"!. I was like "Man, I'm from the Hendrix, Funkadelic school. Not none of this watered down shit!". By then, he didn't even work at Epic anymore. They probaly dropped him for all of that whack ass shit he was signing. All u had to do was sound like Exotic Storm and have a curl and PRETEND to know how to hold a guitar. Please don't really know how to play because then u were too wild.
